You mean like Fulmer in 2015? Or Boyd in 17?

Cause most Rule 5 players are nothing. Maybe Badoo was just a flash in a pan on a blah team and now he's reventing back. They can play him, but i don't think not playing him is killing us. Did we once say the same thing about Reyes? -

I'll preface this by saying I don't care if Al stays or goes. His trades have netted zero and the FAs all turned to pumpkins this year. Though nobody was complaining at the time But some in here is just unfair. Yes hes been here for seven years. But, for the first couple they were trying to win with the old group then he tore it down. It wasn't a tear down from day 1. So being like you said seven years to build is a bit unfair cause it wasn't like he started from day one. Then you talk about drafting and developing. if you say he has had seven years, he's really had six years of developing and drafting. Few players are phenominal in their first year. Al in theory has his first group hitting FA (six years in the big and that's only one year in the minors). Do you know a bunch of teams with 27 year old all stars all over the field who were developed at home? Then don't forget they lost a year to COVID, a very important year that set everything back. Again you can take or leave Al for all I care, but the ole Valentini he's had seven year argument doesn't take a full picture into consideration. -

That's just silly. That does nothing to help us and just causes problems. It's jsut reacting out of emotions. -
It's pretty rare overall, but Kris Bryant and Nelson Cruz both did it. So we got an all star on our hands.

It always goes up in abritration always. He makes just under $6 million this year. That's 6 million that could go to other positions. You've held on long enough and he's shown flashes bust hasn't been consistent. At this point he's unleikly to be here in two years. Time to just cut bait. Plus his position 1st/3rd is the easiest to fine cheaper production on the FA market. They'll take his, Grossman, Barnhart money and spent $10 on a pitcher and $10 on an infielder and hope just the fact everybody doesn't die in 2023 makes em better. -
I just want to point out they talked about him and having communication is 30 to 45 days. I wonder where you can go and be cut off from the world for 30 to 45 days? One day at a time ER

I would say that's a low chance. He hits his second abritration years and starts to get really exensive. They could non tender him and take his money for any infield position and probably get at least what he produced this year. -
it would make the number of randos, ban waggoners, and strangers in the Tigers playoffs threads look like nothing.

is tony giarratano off the list finally?
-
That's stupid. Pass on a pitching prospect who can help, when we've seen how pitchers can get hurt because someone won't give you an equally rated bat. Isn't that why we held on to Boyd?
-
Take the best prospect regardless. You thought we were good pitching wise to start the year. How is that going. Just take the best guy don't take a lesser prospect just cause you're like I need x today.
-
You take shortstop because they are most likely to move to another porisiton. Hard to move a right fielder somewhere. If kreider is good and you moved Oklahoma boy to center then you've addressed your need. On the other hand if kreider sucks and you drafted a right fielder you still have no shortstops.
-
Defense is so overrated. We won a lot of games with a bad fielding group. That wasn't what cost us the world series. If you can field great but can't hit nobody cares. Nobody ever won with a bunch of Adam evettets
-
They are milking it too long between. It's not college football where most have seen the guys/have tape. 30 minutes and they aren't even 10 picks in yet

"I’ve come around to the idea that it’s unlikely that the Tigers will sue,...." And I'm pointing out that its not unlikely, its not gonna happen. There is no damage to sue over.
-
There's nothing to sue over. We paid him when he was part of the team. Didn't pay him when he wasn't. What are you going to argue breach of contract? That becomes null with the restricted list.
-
Then you risk that he comes back and sucks and you have to pay him. Voiding contracts is a huge red flag. It's not like the other owners wouldn't know about it. Nobody would give him much more than a small deal to start. By simply voiding it, you make him someone else's problem then can take his money and just go spend it on someone else.
-
No for a host of reasons. Mainly they only paid him for time work, he hasn't been paid for time unworked. But, they will certaintly try to void the contract.

Did Avila make this trade?

Off Day Topic: What do YOU hope to see the rest of the way?

An occasional run -
The bible has a lot of stuff. Look at your clothing. Two different materials? Then that's death for you. Probably the same for those uniforms those players wear. Hopefully none of their wives went to church within 33 days of giving birth. Stealing....damn there goes the running game. Some of them have trimmed their beards. That's a no no So is getting tattoos. Or pitching on the Sabbath. Look the ole religion bans its argument is beyond stupid. There are a lot of rules that are in Leviticus that 98 percent of the world ignores. So why do we listen to that one? If the players are going to cite religion and then get tattoos and pich on the Sabbath then let's call them what they are hypocrites.
-
Yeah they went 10 steps beyond that. Murray does have a ceiling, and sometimes when you swing and miss you miss. The post completely ignores those points. And missing on a swing and miss does nothing to keep cade in five years it leaves you in the same spot. It's wrong to just ignore all that when you wrote 300 words trying to explain why sharpe.
-
Geez Murray would be lucky to be drafted at this point. You guys make it seem like he has ZERO upside no skills and is basically crap. Meanwhile Sharpe is sure to hit and become a star. Neither is true.
