  1. And a lot are meh, gonna get tagged or sign elsewhere, he'll bell is probably the third best free agent. It's not a deep or talented class. As I said god awful
  2. Just one thing to keep in mind too with 2023 free agents, yes there will be cuts. But, right now the Free agent class is god awful
  3. They jump. Ragnow's almost doubles. Decker's big one was this year, but goes up another 5 next year. But they can create 40 million in cap space in cutting three players, Brockers, Vaitai and Goff
  4. Neither was Springer. But the bregman draft was after they lost 92 were trying to lose and fired their manager mid year. Just cause Texas out sucked them so they didn't lose 100 didn't mean they weren't tanking
  5. Could be. But, couldn't he also be the next Theo Epstein? goes both ways. Plus he's only been with the giants since 2019. Kind of hard to judge whether he had draft success or not in such a short time frame
  6. I just want to quibble with this a bit. Nobody here complained at the time. Sure it sucks in hindight but do we really judge all deal in just that vacuum?
  7. There's no evidence he won't either. But you just refuse to acknowledge that so you keep projecting your made up beliefs as fact
  8. The biggest issue with division in this case is draft. Not only will he help beat us twice, and we know he will, that will hurt the picks we get back. At least in another division teams could beat him and make the pick better
  9. Keep him. We need good players we're not hurting for cap space so I don't know why we are worried about paying him his worth. And even if he doesn't resign the cap hit from franchising him is a $4 million increase. Seems worth it when the lions have $50 million in space. And the return, in the division, none the less is crap. We gave up two picks to get the 60th pick in the draft. neat a bust. At least without trading him you have two lottery tickets, a pro bowl tight end and two years to get some help. Now we have none of that and one lottery ticket. Fleeced Saying its a great all is just flat out silly. It wasn't by any stretch unless you think they are gonna draft a pro bowl TE at 60 which has about a .2 percent chance of happening. We didn't get better in the short or long term with the deal. Or do you think losing their only offensive weapon is an upgrade?
  10. No its not. And to suggest it is dumb. They in theory gave up TJ for a late 2 to someone in division. When they need more good players not fewer
  11. Holmes get fleeced in the division too.
  12. And he finished with a losing record, missed the playoffs and cost the team a shot at bosa or Ramsey. Not sure what the point of your story was
  13. I guess things aren't so Pleasant
  14. I don't think its likely but i don't think you can say "isn't either." No matter how much you like a guy 6 wins (or whatever he finishes with) is pretty bad. And its hard to keep a coach who isn't their first year when you end up as the worst team.
  15. cause he's head coach and the buck stops with him. WIns and losses also matter. or do you want to take the position there is more to evalaute whether someone is good than just soley wins and loses and saying things like, i dunno, A guy is good because he made a super bowl is silly. can't have it both ways. You can't say Goff is decent cause he went to a super bowl. But, Dan is also fine and his wins and loses don't matter.
  16. It cause they keep trying to win now and win meaningless games instead of rebuilding with a qb Basically your plan
  17. Not surprised you're a trade back guy. The team that moves back almost always loses the deal as picks after 30 rarely amount to anything
  18. I'll be at the front of the line. Cool they won five straight finished with six and moved from 2 to 14 in the draft. They don't have a QB and then next year finish with 6 wins again. Then what do you, blow it up? I guess competitive in 2028 is a reasonable goal, but hey they had a winning streak at some point in 2022. Neat.
  19. can you really chalk it all up to injuries? At what point do we admit that the team/coaches aren't what people thought during hard knocks? They still drastically need players that cause other teams to scheme for. Even fully healthy, they didn't have that. I think its fair to say they disappointed. I think most expected more than 1 win in the first six. They don't have that and other teams have injuries as well, it's not just the lions. Sure the teams got better than anticipated by some at the start of the year. You know who didn't? Detroit
  20. Yes. Remember all the talk of an easy schedule to start the year. They are now currently in line for the No. 1 overall pick. Nobody in the preseason expected them to be the worst in teh league.
  21. Nah they all just started their rebuild sooner. So it's cool.
  22. Yes. But, I know Goff isn't the answer. The might guy could be JaMarcus, but he could also be Stafford. What it does it at least give me a chance to find a franchise guy. If I keep Goff in place, that chance is zero.
  23. Even if they could work out a deal (they can't) it might be the better move to just cut him. Take the $20 million in cap saving use it elsewhere instead of just taking on a contract or some conditional pick that will just be a practice squad player/guy who doesn't make the team. Just keep it simple.
  24. Stop Nobody is going to trade for Goff. He was a dump in for Stafford. Nobody else wanted him. Not to mention he's just not good. And who cares what the Rams did to get him. Looks like a mistake. Why does that have any impact on today?
