  1. Ok and that's fine But that's different saying "at 23 your either a MLBer or not" which does seems like an "checklist list/age test" You literally said a player ar 23 is an mlb or not. But that would leave guys lie dl hall off who is a top pitching prospect but 24. Not to mention guys like Chapman who made his debut at 24 and was just fine.
  2. Good God we've become so warped in thinking when guys should be ready. 22 is a senior in college for most people
  3. Except it's silly to compare qb to any other position via draft round. The numbers have borne it out and even you link says it round 1 qb and high or you are just hoping to get lucky. It's nearly impossible to win without a pro bowl qb where as you can win a lot of games with just a service free safety in round 2.
  4. The problem is the sample. Take Drew Brees for example. He made 13 Pro Bowlers. He was drafted in round 2 and accounts for the large percentage take him out of the equation and what happens? The number shifts dramatically. Getting a hof level player messes with the number. To be accurate with thing like this you almost always need to french judge it (Edit to add not to mention pro bowl has lost a lot of luster. Heck a guy who had 4 td made this years)
  5. Plus you can't use him in those milk mustache ads
  6. Haven't we heard the same thing a few times over the last several seasons?
  7. Riley Greene ranked No. 7 on Jim Bowen's breakout candidate list. So that's nice.
  8. Wow talk about not accurate at all. I went "ape shit" because you said we could AFFORD big players. That is why. Then you change an said we wouldn't be big players. Those are two totally different concepts. I said you didn't understand how contracts work because you don't. You in your argument the Lions couldn't AFFORD players used examples of Bradberry making $15 million a year. that is AAV not cap hit, different concept which you don't understand. I used Flowers as an example to show how AAV and cap hit isn't the same. In year one (which is what the Lions would be signing any big player for this offseason) it was dramatically less than his AAV. I never once said we should focus on AAV, never not once. You can link it. Just keep making stuff up, you were wrong in your inital post, wrong in your summary of it. And have shown you don't have a grasp of the siutation.
  9. apparently our training room sucks and we make guys eat too many coney dogs
  10. You would have to prove that Carter's behavior led to the crash. Simple racing isn't enough. Especailly when Carter didn't wreck and the other guy was three times the legal limit.
  11. By definition something not true is a lie. It's his job to verify everything even from a trustworthy sources. Reporting 101 there. And it's not in all journalism today. You don't see reports like Biden fired his commerce secretary. Whoops no he didn't. Our bad moving on.
  12. or could it be amplified? Will he/won't he get off the pitch? There will be plenty of tensions it just won't wane becuse it lasted 90 seconds and i got bored. Nobody thinks NBA possessions would include more tensions or be amplified if we extend it to a 35 second shot clock. Why is baseball different?
  13. It's not. The median household income in this country is $70K. And its considerably higher in metro areas. For a few hours of entertainment the 50-100 is going rate whether it be a sporting event, gymboree or a trip to the aquarium. And what families are going to more than a couple of games a year anyway?
  14. Ok now tell us what is. (Not you Motown, jeff) Put actual news and reporting out there. God I hate modern sports journalism Edit to add: it gets better he then immediately tweets he didn't ask about Anderson. So the Lions won't draft a de before round 3 unless maybe the best guy is there then maybe.
  15. That's what I mean. I don't think he just invented on air randomly. Some gm said it and he just repeat it without verification or proof. So he is just as culpable in making it up
  16. Again the only smoke is todd McShay then a bunch of people reporting his report. He is the only one! Look it up, not other one person has reported it on their one And anyone who mentions it just like mcshay hasn't offered on piece of proof. It's just a "well he has character concerns" You have fallen victim to it and it's a problem with sports journalism today. A lie was put out there for whatever reason, it wasn't verified, reported with no consequences then gets repeated a bunch of times by bad journalists and blogs. Then people like you are like well there is smoke and make it fact, when it isnt
  17. WHat character issues? That was something Todd McShay made up with no proof, nobody has confirme and seems to be completely false.
  18. It doesn't have to come after June 1. The reason why people note that is that the rams get massive more cap savings by doing it. The trading team would have little incentive to do the rams a favor. It would allows delay their draft compensation until 2024. Which would be bad for them too. A bit of a catch 22 They will probably half to deal him now and take just 5 mill this year, they get a young body to add to the win now team and more cap relief In the future. The team acquiring him will also have him in the fold so they can figure out their offseason and don't lose picks down the road, just this year.
  19. $5 when you were a kid is $20 today. A $20 ticket is still less than the cost to fill up a tank of gas today. A $100 is now two tanks. It's a reasonable cost and 50 to 100 for an hour of entertainment be it a sporting event or concert or helicopter ride is the going rate
  20. Don't move to another market.
  21. Motown: it's stupid to draft a qb goff is great throwing to wr look at all these stats Also Motown: we should give up cash and picks to add to our wide receiver core. They need an upgrade
  22. Svannah is baseball's version of the globetrotters so they play more games on the road that home. Chantam County, GA, home of Savannah, went for Biden
  23. I just don't get the argument cause its plays out like this. People: We don't need a QB, Jared Goff is great and on a top five offense and a leader who has been to the Super Bowl. It's stupid to draft a backup with one of our two picks because we need to address other areas. Same People: We need to add a WR to said top offense that was pretty good at the cost of picks AND cash. It's cool though we other picks.
  24. Let's look at your first post "It's looking like Detroit will not be big players in free agency, or resigning Chark. Even if they cut most of the guys on the bubble like Okwara and Harris that will only leave them with enough to resign a couple of their own free agents, plus maybe a couple of mid tier guys." You literally wrote they will only have the cap space to sign their own guys and couple of mid tier free agents. You in no way in that post wrote that they could sign a big name. You literally said they can't. That is what people disputed. Then in your next post you came and said, well...they could but it would eat up everything. In no way does it say that in your first post in quotes above. You were wrong in your break down in the cap in that you don't understand how contract work. Yes flowers went up in year 3. Not sure what the heck that has to do with anything. It didn't stop the Lions from signing him no? Just like if Bradberry is 5 million this year and 25 million in 2026 it won't mean they don't have the cap space to sign him in 2023. And yes teams caps will be different. Again, what does that have to do with anything and it in no way deters from the fact the Lions do have the cap space to sign a big name, which you said is impossible because they only have the cap space to resign their own gusy and a couple of middle tier free agents.
