  1. The problem with subchannels is they are maxed in what they can send out. If you send out one hd signal the substation almost always has to be sd because of said cap. When your showing a 4x3 480 show from the 70s is fine. Sports fans probably aren't gonna sit for long with sd or a low mbit HD program.
  2. But that's true for pretty much any activity. Concert museums sports, whatever. It's also a factor for a premium channel. I'm not sure most people watch everything on paramount plus. They watch a couple things then it sits there. I'm not sure it's much of a factor.
  3. My comment was more the decline in all sports tv viewership via cable not specific to rsn l's which I explained at length before in this thread. They all face challenges with cord cutting. It's why the nfl is now on Amazon and baseball has looked at Apple.
  4. It's 100 percent cord cutting. College football, NFL, NHl, NBA and college basketball are all facing the same challenge.
  5. This the vaitai love is silly. It's an easy spot to save a lot of money and with the other guys on the line you're probably not gonna see a massive drop off with a 6th round rookie or a 2 million signey
  6. Molitor and Plesac mostly
  7. Roster crunches. Was up againt guys like Ripkin and Tram early in his career and Puckett, Winfield, Henderson and Griffey at the end. playing in lil ole milwaukee didn't help.
  8. Oh for God sake can we stop calling guys like Mize green and tork underwhelming. They have barely played a year and lost a year to covid. You would have cut trout after his first stint and Verlander would have been dfa'ed on July 7 2005. Give a rookie a moment before declaring him anything.
  9. https://www.mlive.com/lions/2017/04/detroit_lions_2017_draft_previ.html But it was proably beacuse the lions took staffod in the draft didn't trade for him, gave him a massive deal, and he had a better completition percentage and a better QBR along with leading his team to the playoffs, than Goff in their 28 year old sesons.
  10. We gonna talk MLB top prospects? [clicks link looks for Tigers] https://www.mlb.com/prospects/top100/
  11. I wouldn't read too much into it yet. They are heavily in debt and this might just be a chance to get out of some of the terrible debt for pennies. McClatchy recently did it after it bought Knight-Ridder and then the bottom fell out of newspapers like the next week. It just spun off into a new company and left a chunk of the debt behind.
  12. I drive a goff It's reliable but I still don't like it.
  13. Its more about putting the name in a person's head. So if you see little Ceasars a bunch of time, the idea is planted that way when someone thinks pizza they see your brand or drives past a store it sticks out in the mind. Few ads get direct buys, but it's about brand recognition and planting the idea so when it comes time, the name sticks out.
  14. Nflpa called for a ban
  15. They could cause its not like anybody is there. But outside of his rookie year (albeit in very limtied duty) he's sported a slash of .230/.257/.581. Just a hair better than Nevin, maybe we should just stick with Nevin and his possible upside.
  16. Participation trophies for everyone!
  17. And most third round picks bust out. Don't make it seem like 80 percent are solid starter. So it really doesn't matter if it's a qb or dl who busts. If you find your qb there though, well it's the most important position on the field.
  18. They don't play defense in the big 12. Never have
  19. Again 2 million, decent track record. I guess I just fail to see the problem and don't think some waiver wire guy on his fourth team this off-season is gonna match that.
  20. A one year deal at pretty much nothing (that's why i said its just barely more than the minimum. 2 million for a player now a days is nothing). I guess i don't see what the downside is. If all those things you wrote hold true, you DFA and no fuss no muss. But if he continues to preform despite the outlier, then you have a guy who does 60 or so innings and minimal cost. Maybe even a trade chip. It's not like they gave him 10 or 5 million. It's two. And its a one year deal. Who was he blocking? What is keeping him taking away from? At 3x the league minimum he's about a third of 1 war player which seems about right for him.
  21. About three times the minimum for a guy with an under four era in four years for us seems reasonable.
  22. arm strength is about more than just throwing it 50 yards hauss
  23. Im excited for Will Vest's upcoming All-Star season
