  1. There's what like 10 games left in spring? They weren't gonna make the team cause they have limited minors success. There is no reason to rush em, remember when the team put up tork last year? Let them go down, play everyday and improve. Sending them down now frees up spring at bats for the guys who need to get ready and for guys on the fence like badooo.

  3. Been a fun few days for waller, must feel like teams have his back: Plan to marry a woman who plays basketball in the same town but want to keep it secret. Coach outs your plan to the media Complain Get your butt traded clear across the country 11 days after your wedding.
  4. The attention whore level is off the charts. Even the Kardashians are like s*** or get off the pot!
  5. It is useless, sorry. There is no weight for a first round pick versus a late round pick. There is no consieration for whether a player makes a team. The sample size is too small and having a pro-bowler could easily impact the decision. Let's look at some possible scnerios. The Cardinals have pick 210, they take a QB knowing they would like to find a third QB for the roster for camp to take the load of Murray. They take one, he doens't make the team but is put on the practice squad for six games and is cut. Then who cares? The Eagles landed two good receivers in teh draft 6 years ago and now are paying them each $15 million. They have decided to dedicate money elsewhere so for backups they just keep using low round picks on WR and churring through them in two years and letting them go. There are too many items that can throw this report into wacko land and dramtically increase or decrease percentages. That is what makes it usueless. It lacks any context or weight as we know first round picks are more targeted selections than a seven round guy when many teams might take an 8th or 9th guy and he has no real shot to make a roster. And yeah I knew WR was where they invested the most when you break it down like this. Most teams will carry what 6 guys and maybe a kick returner that is usually a WR. That is what like 14 percent of the entire roster so it makes sense they spent draft capital there. It would probably be Oline, but the survey broke down T, G, C while not breaking down inside or outside WR.
  6. Meh a fairly useless chart
  7. The good news is he'd be backup on all those teams too
  8. Mr. Bounce back Spencer torkleson
  9. You said they would have to pay him when anyone ever in hsitory writes that it's implied it's about a big jump in pay. Trying to argue you meant like somehow the Bears weren't aware of his cap hit when making the trade is just silly. The Bears knew they would have to pay him because he was under a contract player and it stops them from making 0 other moves given their ample cap space. So it's really moot to say they have to pay him like it's some hindrance. It's OK to just say crap I should have researched my post better.
  10. I'll take reports that the reporter should have questioned instead of just running with someone told them for $100 alex
  11. Just to be clear dj Moores cap hit is 20 million then 16 and 16. No reason to worry about paying him And the Bears have 80 million in cap space still after the trade. They will be able to sign some plug and play guys in free agency Might have wanted to research your first half a bit better
  12. Probably did the feelers and didn't think it would get better, now you can set up your scouting and free agency knowing the plan. Is holding out another three weeks really gonna push the colts to give up four first rounders for a non-luck type draft?
  13. They've been awful for a lot of years and tried to tank this year and screwed it up. At some point you have to start building
  14. I would say yes. They'll sign an rb draft an olineman and load up on defense.
  15. Seems reasonable to me. Moore is like a first round pick so he gets them help immediately to go along with 9 and still like 80 million in cap. Plus no wr is as good as him.
  16. So were gonna take a guy with a track record of hitting at every level and replace him with a guy who was a weaker hitter at every level? People really need to cool it on Tork. We'll see what he does, but let's not panic and let's not replace him with light hitters.
  17. Low chance. He's now the best FA WR on the market. Someone will pay him.
  18. Oh God comisky in Chicago, he comes another two pages on chicago stadium issues
  19. cause of the tax incentives/breaks
  20. Not so sure of that. Last thing we needed was more spoiled millennial in tiny apartments driving up the price of everything
  21. I really wish you'd stop citing future cap obligations. Those are just silly. I mean in year 2025 the bears have 505 million in cap space and 28 teams have more than 100 million. The Lions seem better than most and ranked 9th but it's not some mastery of the system, every team outside of the saints has a bazillion dollars on cap space in future years
  22. I actually understand what Motown is arguing but he is off a bit Even if you have said rookie on a contract, in year 3 he isn't signing for full free agent value. He wouldn't have played or shown what you can do so nobody is giving him 40 million. And not many guys are extended then. If he was the cap hit would be backloaded like all contracts. So there still would be savings by drafting one and letting goff go. Goff best case one Year 1 of just Goff with a likely restructure 13 million Year 1 of goff and rookie Goff 30 million + rookie 5 million Next savings of -23 million Year 2 of just goff 28 million Year 2 of goff cap hit because hes cut and rookie 15 million Net savings of 13 million Year 3 of rookie 15 million (Net savings of 25 million cause goffs extension would be about 40 million for arguments sake by then) So while it wouldn't help the cap this year, per se. It would in the long term. And the idea behind this year's saving assumes one thing and forgets another. Someone is getting that rookie cap hit no matter what. And it assumes goff would even agree to a restructure.
  23. It's only $13 million this year
