  1. Both SF and Philly own tie breaker, so we are still third. The job isn't done yet.
  2. In fact, I like to figure out what Ben is doing. I try to learn as much as I can from him
  3. Seriously, how many posts do you have complaining about Ben Johnson? If you don't like Ben, then you don't like ice cream. I trust Ben. He has proven himself to me.
  4. Harris already eluded to the fact that he hasn't played against AAA pitching, and needs experience playing 3rd base. I would be surprised if he's up in 2024 at all.
  5. They have a 3rd baseman, but Jung won't be ready at the beginning of the season.
  6. There isn't much to go off, but in 382 innings in the outfield this year, J-HM had 6 assists, 2 errors, and one double play. He can at least hack it. https://www.fangraphs.com/players/justyn-henry-malloy/sa3017073/stats?position=3B/OF
  7. Would the Lions be this good if they didn't practice? They are a precise and violent team.
  8. I would expect Dylan Drummond to back up Kalif at the slot. It looked like Green was getting snaps last week, and he could share snaps with Jamo. In the backfield, Reynolds and Z should back up Montgomery. The offensive line should be fine. The Lions will be fine.
  9. I think they'll sprinkle him in. If AmonRa can't go, I can see them replacing him with a mix of Kalif and Jammyr.
  10. Impossible to screw that team up. They have too much talent to not own that division for the next 5 years at least.
  11. We've seen bad Bellinger before, he's too risky IMO.
  12. My team for 2024 C Jake Rogers and Carson Kelly I would pick up the team option for Kelly. In one year I would expect Dingler to be ready for at least a part time role. 1b Tork. 2b Colt Keith, backed up by Lipcius against tough lefties. 3b Start the year with a mix of Vierling and McKinstry until Jung is ready defensively. SS Still have hope that Baez opts out. If he must stay, then he's got one last chance. I am not confident either Baez or his replacement would be replacement level. RF I would prefer Greene in RF and some Center, with Carpenter backing him up. Carpenter should dh quite a bit. Viewing can help in RF. CF Parker Meadows/Riley Greene LF Justin-Henry Malloy. Would love to find at bats for Badoo, but Malloy is a priority, like Keith. Starting Pitching Tarek Skubal, Matt Manning, Casey Mize, Reese Olson, and Sawyer Gipson-Long. For reinforcement I would stretch out Brieske, unless he's ready for high leverage relieving. Montero, Madden and Flores should add enough depth. RP If the Tigers can trade their relief like last year, they should. There is plenty of arms they can throw in. I would try Montero and Flores in high leverage. By the way, no free agents, please. It's a bad year to have money. Wait for someone to need to clear salary, then rip them off.
  13. At first, I thought for sure it was an achilles, but it sounds like best case scenario is a low ankle sprain.
  14. He gets a lot like that one. Don't know if it's luck or skill.
  15. They got away with no bullpen or defense under Dombrowski.
  16. I think the Tigers are deep enough to go at it, unless they can find a similar deal like Lorenzen. Right now, I can see them starting with Skubal, Manning, Mize, Olson, and Gipson-Long. Madden and Flores for depth. Jobe and Melton would be next, probably in Erie.
  17. There's an excellent interview of Harris by Johnny Kane on this month's Inside Tigers, if you get a chance to catch it on Ballys, or you can watch it here... https://www.motowntigers.com/2023/09/09/inside-the-tigers-progression/
  18. According to Lynn Henning in this article, Colt's old shoulder injury has bothered his throwing, and he doesn't have the same throwing ability he did when he was drafted. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/mlb/tigers/2023/09/03/colt-keith-is-the-linchpin-to-more-detroit-tigers-2024-muscle/70756369007/
