  1. If the Yankees win, game 1 is at 8:38 PM Eastern on FS1. If the Red Sox win, game 1 is at 4:08 Eastern on Fox. Game 2 is at 8:03 pm Eastern on FS1 either way.
  2. CBA expires on Dec 1, 2026...I would guess that Skubal and a lot of free agents sign before that on the old rules. The nuclear winter lockout is coming.
  3. Greene's struggle against lefties and the fact that nobody makes contact anymore. It was a daring bet that Jones could hit a single...they strike out a lot and there is no power tradeoff. I can live with no contact if they occasionally run into something.
  4. Tigers have not scored more than 5 runs since September 10th.
  5. They have to change the offensive mix. The pitching gave them 7 innings to figure it out. At some point, the dam will break.
  6. One of the main reasons they collapsed is because their core hitters did not make enough contact. That has to be solved in the short term and long term.
  7. Seen this movie before.
  8. Horn, Urquidy and Jung were not available for this series..they are still in the options cycle per Evan Woodbery. They would be available if the Tigers advance.
  9. Williams has a pretty high walk rate...they need to take walks and actually cash in during leverage.
  10. Meadows, Carpenter, Greene, and Perez...those guys have to get big hits or they are going home.
  11. Bailey Horn is not joining the roster..
  12. Guardians rotation: Game 1: Gavin Williams Game 2: Tanner Bibee Game 3: Slade Cecconi
  13. The season was a stress test for Greene and Tork. We know what they are now. If you carry them forward, they need to be complemented with more talent. They can't carry a team.
  14. Making the playoffs two years in a row is nice...even with the expanded format. With the offense, these guys could sustain it. It's a bunch of decent players but no stars who can carry you out of a slump. I can't explain the risp numbers but everyone crashed at once.
  15. At this point, I'm not as fixated on the playoff result. These are going to be high leverage low scoring games. The teams that makes more contact is probably going to win...that's probably Cleveland. I want to see what lessons they learn moving forward. They need more contact guys offensively and fewer contact guys on the staff.
  16. Stolen from a tweet...these are all the pitchers from last year who are no longer around: • Beau Brieske • Sean Guenther • Ty Madden • Brenan Hanifee • Jason Foley • Bryan Sammons • Alex Faedo • Jackson Jobe Hanifee is around but not as good.
  17. I don't think they should overreact to this collapse because it's very strange that everything has gone wrong at once. I think they got a little high on their supply with all of the pitching moves and roster chaos. Eventually, they had no answers for any of it. They need to stabilize a few more positional players and redouble their efforts to get more pitching depth. 2024 Pitching chaos basically killed about 5 guys with injuries. That's hard to recover from.
  18. Whatever competitive character is, this is the opposite.
  19. The collapse of the offense is staggering. No slugging, no clutch hitting, just a lot of whiffs and outs. I don't get it. I think their belief in platoon magic was wishful thinking. And because the core hitters have slumped so much, you can't carry boat anchors like Meadows, Baez, Sweeney, and no Mckinstry. I understand why the pitching is bad..and I have real questions on how they fix it next year.
  20. Bailey Horn is not around..Kyle Finnegan is the move.
