I'm a long game guy...if yesterday is an aberration..over the long haul it won't mean anything. If it's a sign of things to come...that' a problem. The JD Martinez trade didn't kill us...all of the other deals that were as bad...worse..or never completed did
listening to 97.1's pet idiot Riger on the way home last night...he actually theorized that Harris didn't consider ERod's no trade status becaue he doesn't have a GM working under him...he's just too busy to know the details.
I'm a bit mystified by the whole "closer to home " narrative any way. Unless you actually live in the town you play for...how much more difficult is it to get to wherever ERod lives than LA? . You travel all of the time anyway...so a flight form Detroit is a few hours shorter than a flight from LA...will 4-5 hours make or break whatever emergency you're in?
Hmmmm...who could be the party that flaked...the guys with no history of erratic behavior or the guy who took a few months off in the middle of the season last year...because...because...who knows
Given the issues he had last season and the injury this season...adding the perception that he f'd around with the Tigers and Dodgers on this deal might damage his market value to the point opting in makes the most sense for him.
Blows my mind that the Chisox...a 90+ win team a year or so ago..are already in fire sale mode. Weren't they supposed tp dominate the Central for years?
Exactly...the overall stuff might look really good, but because he's working on something...or he's just inconsistent because he's a 20 year old working in a league he's a bit young for...he might get tagged for a few
