  1. Bojan was shooting like a man who wants to enhance his market demand
  2. If we can walk out of day one with Carter and a CB like Porter or Cam Smith...I'll be ecstatic. If the Rams magically fall into that 5-10 range and we land in the teens...then we can look at Ringo/ Myles Murphy and Bresee / Joey Porter. Either way, we have a golden opportunity to get two more defensive starters with high end potential on day one. Teams may become to fear us
  3. He's not perfect...but maybe McVay's spastic temperament was as much or more of the issue than Goff. Looking forward to seeing Houston and Hutch take a few cracks at Cousins on Sunday
  4. There is a guy named Nova available...right? If not...save the above joke until there is
  5. I would love to see what a Berggren/Rasmussen/Kubalik line looks like as the #2.
  6. A quote from a veteran NHL player re the Wings from an ESPN article by Emily Kaplan. "That team is going to be so legit so soon," the player said. "They have the talent, they also have the swag. Watch out for them."
  7. In the late 70's everyone and their cousin had a copy of Fleetwood Mac's "Rumors". as well we should have...Stevie Nicks was FINE. On the topic of Ms Nicks...Tom Petty's "Don't Come around Here No More" was co-written by Dave Stewart from the Eurythmics. He hooked up with Stevie Nicks and she told him...essentially... "don't come around here no more" the next morning. Not sure I would have shared that story. Maybe lie and say "she said I could come back for more anytime"... God this hot stove league is boring
  8. Lynn Henning will write a scathing analysis about the Adames trade
  9. Norm Cash had a talk show on TV...if course he was a diva. Those TV people are a bad influence
  10. It is not safe to assume Candelario would have signed here for $5 million...it remains to be seen if they can sign a 3B for the $7 million he would have cost us and what his or her (pronouns!!) production will be
  11. When I coached softball...I played a LH 3rd baseman because he was the only guy left who could actually field a ground ball...I figured I'd sacrifice a few IF singles to stop automatic 2b's
  12. Clean up his mechanics a bit..particularly when throwing on the run...and JJ McCarthy is going to be a top QB prospect. He has the arm, the feet and he doesn't rattle easily
  13. And our DB's showed...it's helpful if the DB's just let you run past them
  14. Bowden from The Athletic published a single FA target for all 30 teams. He said the Tigers should sign OF Mitch Haniger for one year at 15 Million
  15. Miggy hasn't been the man since what...2016? My hope is that he hits well enough this year or gets so few AB's that he finishes with a .300 career BA. 500 HRs will be less of a milestone going forward, but hitting .300 seems to becoming more rare
  16. Donovan Edwards gets called out for injuries...but he just ran for 216 yards with a cast on his broken hand. Swift would have been out for the year. No way in hell is Williams worth 7mil a year
  17. Looking locally...I would look at UM's Oluwatimi for a C/G prospect in rd 2. I would take a flyer on Sainristil in the late rds for DB depth. I reaaly like Corum for RB depth In the 3rd/4th rd range I would look at BG's DL Karl Brooks...he's excelled on the edge and inside. I don't know if he's going to be in the draft this year...but OSU's LB Tommy Eichenberg showed a lot of range against UM. Every time I see OSU play..he stands out
  18. The guys Harris signs will quite possibly suck...the Castros and Reyes and Jeimer also sucked. AA was not a good GM...he sucked. You don't magically undo that much suck in one year
  19. How you treat your greats is part of what defines you as a franchise. You can't just euphemistically take Miggy out back and shoot him. He's earned the opportunity to say goodbye on his terms. Give him some AB's..put him on the DL if the knee flares up and hope that he's able to somewhat replicate his last decent year (2020) on his way out the door.
  20. The PP is vastly improved with Perron running things from the half wall. You don't have nearly as many guys on the point indiscriminately blasting away at the cage in hopes of getting a deflection
  21. Getting back to the topic of baseball...the Yankees may be looking to deal Gleybar Torres...could be can offensive upgrade if he's open to playing 2B. Doing some online research in Google news archive of the Toledo Blade. Stumbled upon an interesting item in the sports pages. Apparently...at the 1974 winter meetings the Tigers almost traded Bill Slayback and Mickey Stanley to the Mets. The Mets were to send Rusty Staub to the Phillies..the Phils would then send C Bob Boone to Detroit. Great deal for Detroit...Ok deal for the Phils...awful trade for the Mets
  22. I think Bert gets dealt. Would love a draft pick in return...when Fabbri gets back I'm think Elmer (assuming he's healthy) gets sent down. Zadina is going to have a very hard time finding a spot in this line up
  23. He's slightly built..lacks explosion and his arms are relatively short. In his defense, he can shoot the ball a bit..but probably not enough to overcome his shortcomings. Maybe he gets a call in the 2nd round..
  24. I think you have to NHL and MLB GM's awhile. The timeline for developing draft picks is longer in both sports. Yzerman has the Wings in playoff contention in his 4th year...we're probably looking at a similar timeline with Harris
