I hate it when a great blowout game gets dragged out excruciatingly at the end by our worst reliever.

This game was really close for a while.

I‘m shocked I haven‘t heard that commercial even once tonight.

The question asked was which team is best in the AL East. I can‘t fault anyone for not choosing the Tigers. The entire article was focused on just the AL East and the NL West.

On the radio, Dan said that Brebbia is with the Tigers now in Colorado and can be activated today if necessary or, if not, on Friday.

I love the radio as well. I’ve been listening to Dan’s play-by-play every summer since at least 2003 (the 119 loss season). It’s nice to be able to listen while also doing other things, not feeling the need to be glued to the TV (or a stream).

I don’t think who they draft will say much if anything about their plans for contract extensions moving forward. Brad has made pretty clear that they don’t draft based on position need. Maybe position need is one factor, but they want the best players for their system, regardless of position. If they think the best player at 28 (or whatever number they trade up to) is a WR, CB, or S (e.g. Golden, W. Johnson, Starks), I would not be surprised to see them go that route tonight, even though arguably the defensive line is a greater need at the moment.

With the Hawks loss today, the Pistons’ magic number is now down to 1. They are in the playoffs with one more win, or one more loss for both the Hawks and Magic.

I‘m pretty sure the number dropped from 7 to 6 today. 46 wins would guarantee the 6th seed. Hawks can‘t do better than 46 and the Pistons have the tiebreaker over them.

Actually, I think the magic number is 8. Eight more wins puts the Pistons at 46 wins total, one more than what is possible for the Magic, and the max wins possible for the Hawks. The Pistons have the tiebreaker over the Hawks but not the Magic.

How do you figure that Philly would have two losses against common opponents if they win out? Right now, their only losses are to TB and ATL. Detroit never played Atlanta. Philly would end up 5-1 also against common opponents unless they lose their second game to Dallas (the only remaining common opponent). Maybe I’m missing something.
