  1. Pop the champagne. The 2025-26 season marks the first time we will not be paying Dewayne Dedmon dead cap money since we cut and stretched him years ago.
  2. The 2nd and 3rd worst moves on draft night are the two teams that turned Joe down before Atlanta said yes. NO has a serious shot at being a bottom 5 team. That is when they are healthy, and we know Zion is good to miss 30-40 games.
  3. Most of our applicants are coming from the service industry right now. When things go south we usually see a strong uptick of applicants from other industries as they are getting let go. I realize that isn't exactly scientific.
  4. Rumors were the original talks broke down because Sacramento wanted picks from us. While it does help The Kings retain some flexibility, they don't need the S&T to get Schröder. That limits what we can ask for a bit. Much better if a team is over the cap and wants a guy, then you can ask for more since they can't just sign him outright. His contract is actually pretty ugly. $60 million left over 3 years. That would put them over the cap next summer, and I'm not even including the potential Duren/Ivey extensions. Then there is the possibility this is all complete BS. Someone posted a blurb from the Sacramento Bee saying there is zero truth to Monk being included in a S&T with Detroit. So who knows.
  5. Think it will be a 3 or 4 inch heel?
  6. Pretty sure Langdon said Holland was going to play. I wonder what changed.
  7. Not all of us can ask 48 times if Detroit should trade for Derrick White.
  8. They don't need another guy that cant shoot or play defense.
  9. We need a downvote button.
  10. Carrying a $22 million TPE into the season wouldn't be the worst thing. If someone gets cut or bought out during the season, the Pistons would be in a nice spot to offer money most other teams couldn't. If some team is looking to sell at the deadline, they could take on a contract or two without sending any players out. They would probably have to send a pick in that case, but worth it for the right player and assuming they don't go all Dumars and ship it unprotected.
  11. Like trades aren't hard enough. Let's get 7 teams involved!
  12. Say it with me. No Monk.
  13. I saw Keith Smith on Motor City Hoops. I didn't catch the part on how it happens, but he said the Room Exception is available to Detroit if they want it. The odd thing is, I got the numbers from Spotrac which is the site he works for. They are definitely over the cap, so it has to be some procedural thing in the CBA. If you sign a free agent on the third Monday of the month in the summer solstice, his salary only counts 50% towards the cap in odd numbered years. Or some BS like that. Either way, nice to know we still have it.
  14. The father being called a hero for jumping overboard on the cruise ship to save his 5-year-old kid. Nobody talks about the terrible parenting involved in letting a 5-year-old fall overboard in the first place.
  15. Now sign Bagley and Luka's revenge is complete.
  16. I would believe him before me.
  17. Interesting. I have them $4 million over the cap already. And that is with me using Reid's must smaller cap hold, not his contract value.
  18. Bad print and still up 5% today. My new investment strategy is to liquidate every last thing I own. Then just constantly buy Tesla calls with a strike date right after earnings.
  19. Last night at a WNBA game.
  20. Dude is flat broke. Owes people all over. He owes a barber in Milwaukee $27K. Owes Dan Gilbert about $20K for rent. A dentist $35K. A company that loans pro athlete's money won a judgment against him for $5.8 million. He owes that marketing firm a little over $2 million. They filed a lawsuit against him, and he was served during the playoffs while in NYC.
  21. It's happening
  22. Assuming the reports about the partial guarantee in year 2 and no guarantee in year 3. I feel a lot better about this. They basically overpaid a bit to get those two conditions put in. If he works out and is worth that money, they decide to keep him. If not, cut bait and run. Sort of odd seeing a Pistons GM actually structure a contract in a way that benefits the team. I like it.
