Mentioned him before. Trey Murphy. Can score at two levels and is very efficient doing so. His 3PT% dipped to 36% last year, but it's over 38% for his career. Excellent perimeter defender and can guard multiple positions. Gets to the rim, where he finished at a 72% rate last year. He is locked up for 4 more years at about $27 million per, which makes his contract one of the best values in the entire league. I would offer our 2026 and 2028 1st round picks. Only #1 protected. I would also offer a pick swap in 2027. Then let NO pick any two players from our roster not named Cade or Ausar. Rumors were he was available. Haven't heard much of anything lately so maybe he isn't now. Still should try.

Who runs the scheduling at NBATV? It will be repeated the next day (Friday) at 7PM. It will actually be repeated quite a bit for a few weeks at various times.

You're not wrong, but you are only addressing the fatigue factor and ignoring the lack of scoring. You probably made the scoring problem even worse for two reason. One, adding a non-scorer isn't what a team desperate for scoring needs. And two, taking the ball out of Cades hands for a non-scorer hurts the other guys on the floor. When Cade has the ball, all 5 defenders are watching him, two are probably defending him. Give someone who isn't a threat to score and one guy is watching him, one guy is guarding him. The defense on the other players is much tighter, and it makes it more difficult for them to score This is why Ausar developing as a scoring threat is important. If he can constantly put pressure on the rim, more defenders have to pay attention. Maybe they send a double to get the ball out of his hands. Worst case, he gets in the lane on a single defender and defenses have to start rotating. He is a pretty good passer and when defenses rotate, guys on offense are open. Scoring for the other guys becomes easier because he can score and put pressure on the rim. Ivey can also possibly fill this role, but I think Ausar has higher upside. I'm not opposed to taking the ball out of Cade's hands now and then. I just don't want to do it for some journeyman backup level ball handler.

Getting Cade help should be the #1 goal, and so far it hasn't happened. I constantly posted in threads last year about how Detroit lacks 20 point scorers. 125 times last year, a Piston scored 20+ in a game. 57 were Cade and the next highest was Beasley at 25. In third was Harris with 11 games and the fourth place? Ivey with 10 in 30 games played. That is pathetic. Tatum is Boston's best player. Jaylen Brown had 41 games where he scored 20+. Bostons #2 had 5 less 20 point games than Detroit's 2nd, 3rd, and 4th combined. Payton Pritchard had 24 games where he scored 20+. Porzingis had 16 games where he scored 20+. 163 games for Cleveland. Mitchell is their best player. Garland had 39 games of 20+. 34 games for Mobley. Allen, who is not known as a scorer, had 14 games. 181 games for the Knicks. Well, you get it. The only guy who helped Cade with the scoring is currently not on the roster. Now, Ivey being back, he should replace that lost production. But who steps up after him? Harris with another 11 games? Ivey was #4 last year, and he missed 2/3 of the season. They are at a point now where we need to start talking about deep playoff runs. You can't do that if Cade has to burn himself out in the regular season just to get them into the playoffs. People talk about how the Knicks series is different if Stew plays, and I agree. But nobody talks about how different it could be if Cade is just a little fresher in that series. Three of the four losses were by a combined 6 points. The smallest of things can change that series, and maybe Cade having a little more left in his legs could have been one of those small things to make a difference.

I think a lot depends on if your wealthy alumni like basketball or not. AJ Dybantsa just received $4 million to play at BYU.

Media rights would be a state asset and those are sold. I don't see much difference here. The separate entity will be created for one reason only. To separate football from all the other money losing programs. CalPERS doesn't want to deal with field hockey, bowling, gymnastics, etc. Maybe men's basketball gets tossed into the new entity, I don't know.
