Someone painted this on the rock in Flint. Looks amazing. A lot of work knowing someone is going to paint over it in a minute.

Reports that Miami is open to discussing Jimmy Butler trades.

Rumor was that Danny Ainge and the Jazz owner were dumping a ton of cash into his NIL deal. Some suggested up to $5M for one year which would be even larger than Bryce Underwoods deal (per year) to play QB at Michigan.

Michigan Football 2024 aka The Year Michigan has to Defend a Natty

The least shocking news of the day. -
Speaking of transparency.

He isn't untouchable. But you would have to overpay me to get Ivey. He still is not a good defender. But you can see the effort is there and good coaching can turn that into a viable defender. I would be shocked if he isn't a plus defender in a couple of years. BTW, Cade is shooting 39% from three. These two can definitely play together.

Yeah. That is a nice chunk of change for a team looking to dump salary. The site says the same thing happens next year. If he is on the roster on 1/10/26 then his deal for 2026-27 is guaranteed. So even if they don't do it this year, they get another shot next year. The multi-year view on Spotrac is what I'm using. https://www.spotrac.com/nba/detroit-pistons/yearly

One site says Moore is a team option next year. Another says he is a free agent. One site says if Reed is on the roster on 1/10/25 then his 2025 deal becomes guaranteed. If true they could waive him before next month and use his space. The problem there is, you still need a third big.

How long before someone on a playoff team refuses to play unless their NIL deal is sweetened?

Carlos on track testing for Williams today. Imagine driving a Ferrari yesterday and a Williams today.

If you doubt Cade could make all NBA. Hali made third team last year at 20 ppg 10.9 apg and 3.9 rpg while shooting 36% from three. Cade is averaging 23.9 ppg 9.4 apg and 7.3 apg while shooting 39% from three. ****, maybe he will make it.

Now for the Cade situation. His next extension kicks in next year. Current $$$ on that is $38.6M. If he wins MVP (He wont) or is named all NBA that number jumps to $46.3M. I doubt he makes all NBA, but its not crazy to think about if he keeps up his play. If he does, that eats up even more cap space. Just something to consider.

No game until Thursday is the perfect time to discus Beasley and his contract. A few things to know: He is not eligible for an extension The Pistons do not have his Bird rights. So they must use pure cap space to sign him again. There is no going over the cap to keep him. The Pistons do not have his early Bird rights. EBR let you go over the cap in a more limited manner than normal Bird rights. But they don't have these either. The blue highlighted cells are cap holds. They are something required for free agents. Once the Pistons renounce THJ they will get that $24M cap space back. But until they do they are sitting at $171M next year on a projected cap of $154.6M. So with THJ they are roughly $17M over the cap. They can renounce his free agent rights and get that $24M in cap space back. That would leave them at $7.2M in cap space. So they could give Beasley his cap hold ($7.2M) + the $7.2 in cap space they also have. So the most they can give Beasley is $14.4M next year. Anything over that they cant sign him without dumping some salary. These numbers are always off a bit. So this is just ballpark stuff.

Tommy's wife in Landman gives me huge Tammy Taylor (FNL TV show) vibes. She is also the least interesting character and gets way too much screen time. Never been on the production side of breast feeding. But beer producing more milk seems suspicious. Has Demi Moore's career tanked? She is basically a background character. I don't even think she spoke this episode. Ariana's dog had more screen time. Curb stomping the bosses son seems like a bad career choice.
