While I appreciate the truth that you can’t actually remove the book from being read because of the digital copies, I feel that the physical burning… this act in itself… is more than just “drama”. I find it excruciating in its message. Much like carrying a Nazi flag is more than just drama to every soul that sees it - physical book burning is meant to sear your soul. And, for sure, the curriculum changes should scare the holy hell out of all of us. So, if you have a voice and can bring it to board of Ed meetings in your town, for god’s sake, do it.
