So, then throw money and manpower into the federal response to tracking black market gun industries/perpetrators. They’re criminal enterprises, and need to be persued, much as organized crime families were. And I doubt if they’re as smart/organized as they were.

I just feel the need to maybe correct an inaccuracy in this particular paragraph of yours, Chaz. Teaching grades pre-K through third grade, usually entails not only having your degree in primary education, but additional certification to teach the younger grades. Because it’s not just knowing the curriculum at that age, it’s knowing how to teach math skills, how to teach someone how to read,. Believe me, not everyone can do that part of the job. It takes additional skills. The same way that after I got my degree in primary education plus the special certification for pre-K through third grade, it wasn’t until I found myself, about 30 years later, back in the “education game”…(my venture into the financial industries & systems processing careers sidetracked me for decades 😁) where I was now teaching at a special ed school, and needed to go back to graduate school for 21 credits in teaching special ed students. Just a shout out to all my education professionals out there… I know you want nothing to do with arming yourselves…. And you know that would compound an already deadly situation.

So evidently Wayne LaPierre has upped the ante a bit. I believe he used to say that gun ownership was a second amendment right for all Americans. Now, he’s calling it a basic HUMAN right…A HUMAN RIGHT. If that’s not blasphemous I don’t know what is. Does he even understand what a human right is? Thoroughly disgusting.

More than selfishness, think it’s a case of cognitive dissonance with most.

Yes… there are many doing this country wide. Good for them…. Let’s listen to the kids who are actually the ones the guns are pointed at… and let’s find a way to actually address their VERY real fears. And, God willing, please have their elected representatives in Washington grow a pair, and do the right thing.

I also don’t know what that is, but congratulations, for sure , because I totally agree that having to pass tests is harder the older you get…. That “taking tests” mode in our heads just kinda takes off for planets unknown somewhere after your 40’s. It’s just harder!

I hear you. I came home from the hospital last Monday, and on that Thursday I had to put my dog Lucy down. I had someone come to the house, so it was peaceful for her… and a bit less devastating for me. But still awful. I’m missing her more every day. edit to add a pic of my Lucy.❤️

So basically … what we’re telling our children is that, hey, you’re not safe at school, so we’re gonna teach you how to hide. What the fuck man… Is this the best we can do for our kids? This is the best we can do? How do you look at this and other incidents (which by the way they were 27 other SCHOOL shooting incidents so for this year. Can you comprehend how insane that sounds? 27 shooting incidents in school so far this year)….and not even have a dialogue?? We have to do something. God damn it…we have to do something.

So… I guess we’re “over” yesterday’s atrocity, and now we just wait for tomorrow’s mass shooting so that we may again offer our thoughts and prayers? Jeez. Didn’t even take 24 hours.

I really can’t take this plethora of shootings. But again… children just being school… good God… this is so mind blowing. It will never end until good people with guns convince their kin that maybe more controls WON’T render them victims.
