  1. How does a medical staff make guys not have injuries? They aren't wizards. Guys blow their elbows and shoulders out all the time and there is nothing you can do about it.
  2. If he's due for a monster rebound, why would they trade him? Do only fans on a message board have access to this info? They aren't trading Rutschman.
  3. It's always a can't miss prospect and 3 other amazing guys traded for a mlber. Usually ends up as 3 guys who did nothing in the majors and an average dude. Remember how the Marlins fleeced us in the Cabrera trade?
  4. Why would they trade those guys? They aren't going through a rebuild. They have many good players. They should be right in the thick of the playoff race. They should be trying to add a few pieces for next season Firing their manager would be a great start for them.
  5. Too bad they aren't trading Jose Ramirez.
  6. TJ is elbow, but shoulder injury is probably worse.
  7. A bunch of people could claim they COULD of done all sorts of things. That's a terrible reason to put him in the HOF. Well, so and so could have hit 600 hrs, let's just say he did it.
  8. He was also put in by his buddies on the veterans committee. Probably the worst pitcher in modern times to get in there.
  9. Always hit in the minors? Dude is a .254 hitter in the minors with a .245 average in AAA, including .229 in 309 ABs this season. I don't see how that is "always hit in the minors." Ryan Kriedler is a .238 hitter in AAA. It's time people faced the fact that Jace Jung is not a major league hitter and certainly not a major league glove. He is basically organizational depth at this point
  10. I don't understand why everyone thinks teams are liningbup to try to get Jace Jung. Dude couldn't even make the Tigers roster as the 3rd baseman when he was given all sorts of chances and they all but rolled out the red carpet for him even though he sucked in AAA.
  11. Why would the Rangers trade Jacob Degrom? They are 4 games out of the division and tied for the last wild card spot, only 1.5 games out of the first wildcard spot. Doesn't make any sense at all.
  12. I remember when the Tigers traded for Randy Wolf to finish out the season one year, they gave the Jay's $50k
  13. It was $211.36. It cannot play the outfield but was loaded on a pre-paid Visa gift card that can be used at any Little Caesar's locations in Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana.
  14. So they would need to designate Baez for assignment and basically be done with him. And you want them to keep a guy who can't hit and isn't as good on defense? Sweeney has no future in the big leagues other than possibly a utility guy or the guy who plays in AAA and gets called up when injuries happen.
  15. Barry Bonds had 4 games where he hit 3 home runs and those 12 Homer's accounted for only 15 rbi. Nobody pitched to him with guys on base.
  16. Max Scherzer returns to his Cy Young form today.
  17. Ask Paul Skenes if that's a good thing. He has to put in his years for a franchise that isn't even trying to field a competitive team...kind of like the Tigers from 89 to 05.
  18. Mark Whiten's game was pretty impressive.
  19. At least Mize and Tork are both serviceable players. I didn't like the Mize pick because his fastball was below average and relied on a trick pitch. But I suppose Avila could have picked Nick Madrigal, a 5-6 guy with no power and only the arm talent to play 2nd base at #1 instead of Mize. And the other guys at the top of the 2020 draft sucked too, so I guess the Tigers came out about as good as possible in those 2 drafts.
  20. Aaron Judge's rookie year he hit 52 HR with a 1.049 OPS. McGwire and Alonso also hit 49 and 53 HR.
  21. Aaron Judge, Pete Alonso, and Mark McGwire had amazing rookie years. Kurtz will be a perennial MVP candidate. Even though the Tigers are in 1st right now and the A's are 20 games under .500, I would take their roster in a heartbeat. If they get some pitching, they are going to be in business.
  22. True, but I was told in another thread that he would flame out and is just a flash in the pan like Chris Shelton and Brennan Boesch.
  23. I mean, he was like the best hitter in college for 3 years in a row, but sure...why not make a ridiculous comparison.
  24. He played 5 games in AA in 2024 and decided he had enough of that level. He hit 7 HRs in AAA in 20 games this year and now he is probably the best 1st baseman in the major leagues. For every Nick Kurtz there are about 10,000 Jace Jungs.
  25. I'm about an hour west of Detroit. It's a light drizzle here
