  1. And then lands an advertising gig by replacing Tony the Tiger for Frosted Flakes...........
  2. In 2023 the Tigers had 16 different pitchers start a game. In 2013 the Tigers had just 6. Talk about a lucky year when no one got hurt or was ineffective. Wow! Verlander 34, Fister 32, Scherzer 32, Sanchez 29, Porcello 29, & Jose Alvarez 6
  3. I remember years ago while I was attending a spring training game that Skeeter Barnes was playing third base and failed to field a simple ground ball. Folks in the crowd were yelling "See you in Toledo."
  4. A good rightfielder would've caught that short pop fly. Just sayin'
  5. I certainly hope the Tigers are smart enough not to trade much of their strength in the pitching department so that it becomes a weakness. I would think that adding a couple of free agent bats would be a much better way to go. Who that would be......I have no idea but don't trade your strength into a weakness.
  6. I was thinking yesterday during the game about how, if Juan Gonzalez would've been happy to stay in Detroit and had the numbers that he had while in Texas, he could've had some kind of ceremony upon his retirement. As it was, he is remembered in Detroit about like that pimple you had on your butt in junior high..............
  7. Haven't been to Comerica since the September 2018 honor game of the '68 Tigers. BTW, The Tigers can still win 100 games..........but the streak has to start today. 🙂
  8. On the bright side, this is the latest in the baseball season for a number of years that I have kept wearing my Tiger's gear. But... it's time to put that stuff away for another year. I love baseball, but I can't stand following a team that shows no heart.
  9. It's not going to be easy to break this losing streak anytime soon.........The Braves are pretty darn good.
  10. So.......is he one of those guys that is good defensively anywhere but not great anywhere?
  11. Just a little tidbit on Miguel Cabrera.............At this point forward, he could go 0-200 and still keep his lifetime batting average over .300. This means that he could be in the lineup for about 60 or so games yet. I would hope that he would still get a few singles in those 200 at bats...........
  12. Riley Greene is on pace to break the strikeout record by more than 30 for a season. Somebody please fix him............
  13. Riley Greene is currently on pace for about 240 strikeouts............Please make it stop. I do remember back in the day that the Tigers benched Rob Deer late in the season so that he wouldn't set the major league record for strikeouts. This is not an option for Riley. He just has to get better.........right?
  14. Of the Tiger's 14 position players, 8 are hitting well below the Mendoza line. What a sad bunch. At least in past years, I've been able to wear my Tiger gear into June. To be honest, I haven't even got it out of the closet yet.
  15. Anyone notice today that most of the Boston hitters are lifting the ball in the air. Most of the Tiger hitters are beating the ball into the ground.
  16. I think we'll be able to tell if the Tigers' plan is to trade Schoop at the deadline. You'll see him in the lineup almost everyday to showcase his talent. Not sure that'll be a good idea for either the Tigers or Schoop. 😉
  17. Gotta question taking Boyd out here. Let the guy work through this. He was pitching well.
