  1. Chris Fetters is going to be one busy guy saving the careers of all these new pitchers......................... He's gonna need a better contract.
  2. The ship is taking on water. Hinch needs a bigger pump soon or he's going down with the ship.
  3. A Corvette is a Chevy..................Just sayin'
  4. Just have to solve the Meadows, Vierling, Sweeny & Rogers hitting woes. Oh yeah.....and the bullpen. Not an easy task by any means. Perhaps last year's trade deadline work needs to happen again. It was addition by subtraction. Hate to see that happen, because these guys are very likable and can be successful. But can the team afford to wait? It should be a couple of interesting weeks ahead for Tiger fans.
  5. Yep.........might have to trade some of that young talent. But you never know when a Doyle Alexander for John Smoltz type of trade will happen.
  6. His annual $1,198,248.20 check is still coming to him until 2035 according to what I read. Not a bad retirement huh?
  7. The MLB TV deals are stupid. They definitely don't cater to baseball fans. If they want more people following the MLB, they need to make games more accessible, not less.
  8. That's a black hole in leftfield tonight with a lifetime .226 hitter there instead of Riley. Meadows, Vierling, and Perez can't get back here soon enough. Prove me wrong Akil. .226 is generous. The last three years .143, .137, & .218
  9. We might need the cone of silence for this game.................................. Bing Videos
  10. Chet Lemon was 1/4 of that great defense up the middle for the 1984 Tigers. He was fun to watch and seemingly loved to play the game. It was hard to see him at the 40th reunion with his health struggles. I'm glad he is no longer suffering and we are all better Tiger fans for those of us who saw him play. BTW, I sat in the bleachers for a doubleheader back in the day. Those seats were hard on the behind. But I think we paid like $4 to sit there. What a bargain! There used to be a guy out there every game leading the cheers. Anyone remember him?
  11. I just wonder how many times a player has hit three homers in a game only to be intentionally walked for the rest of the game? I don't think I'd pitch to the guy after he has already hit three in the game.
  12. Yes, the Reds played in Plant City. The Royals played at what was called Baseball City, which was about 15 miles or so east of Lakeland. I believe it was at the I-4 and Rt. 27 interchange. The baseball stadium there is no more. I think it's all a shopping and condo area now. I went to games at both locations years ago.
  13. How is everyone watching the Tigers this season? Are they still on Bally?
  14. I'm wondering if he had a broken hand all of last year when he hit .137? If not, maybe he could actually hit better with just one hand. It didn't work well for him with two healthy hands.
  15. Almost every Tiger fan would or at least should desire this..............................
  16. Good old Rodney........He could be both good and bad in the same game. Well, he could be both good and bad in the same inning. Heck, he could be both good and bad with the same batter....................
  17. Unless said team wins a couple of World Series'.
  18. It would've been interesting to see Justin Verlander in a closer's role. As a starter, I felt that he threw way too many pitches to be effective later in games. I personally think that he could've rivaled John Smoltz in success, but we'll never know.
  19. Bregman? Got the cart before the horse? Or have I missed this official signing news?
  20. With the Tigers reported to be "all in" on Bregman, There appears to be several players who will be on the outside......looking in. Good problem to have I suppose. Lots of competition during spring training. Plus, some actual trade material after some of the outsiders had some success at the end of last season. But of course, the Tigers being "all in" does not mean that Bregman or his agent is. I think that Bregman could be a guy like Ian Kinsler and give the Tigers a spark for three or four years. Not sure on years after that. But I think that he is younger than Kinsler was when he joined the Tigers.
  21. Would not be a bad move for the Tigers. They should sign him and let him hit. Lorenzen would probably hit better than 3 or 4 of the guys who batted for the Tigers last year.
  22. You are surprised that nobody wants a career .226 hitter with a most recent batting average of .137? The Tigers certainly have better options. Looks like other teams do as well.
  23. Well, let's hope they at least lose to the Tigers........................
  24. Could a Bregman effect have similar results to what Pudge meant for the Tigers?
