I do hope Wenceel's eye heals up. But I'm not sure he is any better than Malgeri. He couldn't hit his way out of a wet paper sack at the end of last season and all that he played this year. He will not help this team.

Remember the last time that the Tigers sold at the deadline? They got rid of several average, underperforming guys and brought in some hungry young guys that wanted to win and had something to prove. That turned out pretty well in 2024. Could they pull that off again? Sure, why not? They just have to move on from the right guys. I'm not sure who that is for sure. But moving on from Jones and Perez was a start.

I believe that they were putting importance on this series due to the impending trade deadline and what decisions the management makes as far as if the team is buying or selling at the deadline.

This extra charge to watch your favorite team today is a travesty. Especially for those that are already paying to watch on the regular service. The MLB is losing thousands of fans, but they don't seem to care. This stuff is going to get worse. It's no wonder that baseball is no longer America's pastime. If the strike does happen, it will take more than a McGuire/ Sosa homerun chase to bring fans back. They may be gone forever.

I believe he is much better at first base than Keith. Not comparing him to a gold glove winner, just comparing him with Keith defensively.

You want Keith's bat or Torkelson's glove in the game? Or........how about a new first baseman all together?

This lefty/righty stuff is getting old. Put the best 9 hitters in the lineup and leave them there. It's no wonder the Tigers have trouble scoring runs. There is no consistency in the day to day lineup.

They need at least a 7-3 homestand to keep the hopes alive.

There is no way that the Tigers will resign Skubal. Add to that the Tigers will not get any immediate help at the major league level in a trade. At best they get 4 or 5 prospects which only about two of them ever reach the Tiger's major league roster as mediocre players. This is just my prediction based on the Tigers' trading history. I certainly hope that I am wrong.

But, Jim Morris would make for a better story........ Maybe they would make a movie about him. 😉

At this point, it would not surprise me if the Tigers would sign Jim Morris to pitch.

Carpenter brings his .091 average to the spot in the order that is reserved for the best hitter on the team............. Maybe he'll run into one today.

They've got to get Carpenter out of the leadoff spot. To open every game with a strikeout is ridiculous.

If he has a weakness, the rest of MLB will find it. But in the meantime, enjoy the ride.................
