  1. Let's see if I get this straight.... he works 15 minutes at a McDs that's closed for the occasion... and uses it to mock Harris's experience working there years ago? Sad part is it will probably work in his favor.
  2. I remember hearing shortly after his underlings took the punishment that the newspaper who first broke the story was going to gut the department that did the research work to do this... I believe it was Maddow, and she urged people to subscribe to their local papers to try to preserve these types of investigations. Sadly, I believe not enough of us did this.
  3. And yet.... recent history tells us that he absolutely will get away with it.
  4. I agree. And yet.... they keep doing it.
  5. I'm getting the opposite of unicorns, puppies and rainbows via email, from various fundraising sites. I haven't donated because I have no idea which, if any of them, are legit-also don't want even more emails than I'm already getting.
  6. Good point. It also takes away focus from issues.
  7. Years ago I watched a documentary about how once the Plague era ended, those who survived ended up becoming more prosperous. I definitely would prefer a different way to reduce the population.... And I would guess people are having fewer babies because it's hard for them to take care of their own financial needs, let alone those of children.
  8. OK, I'll admit I didn't read/listen to those... LOL. I did read books like Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee for fun, which people found strange.
  9. I'm pretty sure I don't want to know why the towel is there.
  10. TBF, people thought the same about me since I was much more left wing than most people I went to school with. 😉
  11. It's more than a little of a SMH moment when a cousin of mine posts memes on FB referring to FEMA as being run by SJWs, and that the post-Helene/Milton recovery aid is being done by people in diesel, polluting vehicles instead of hybrids. I'd post the meme, but now I can't find it. Do people not realize where the money used for disaster relief comes from?
  12. Let me guess: they need to be buried up to their necks and stoned to death.
  13. Yes, and he won't warn them in advance-just arrange for them to be taken.
  14. IIRC, in '16 Drumpf was told to stay off of social media in order to not highlight his craziness in the last few weeks of the campaign. Maybe whoever is in charge is thinking he now needs to be kept out of the spotlight completely.
  15. It would definitely be great to go to a place where people mostly want the same things, just disagree about getting there. As it is it's getting to the point where maintaining infrastructure that people depend on (directly or indirectly) feels like pulling teeth.
  16. That quote is what people who think they're not going to be harmed because they're not in one of the 'target demographics' need to remember. One of the first groups of people wiped out in 1933 Germany was filled with people who helped Hitler get into power.
  17. TBF, this is true for many who are already wealthy.
  18. While I can't be sure, I think since a lot of the earliest casualties were in blue cities that COVID affected people from different belief systems pretty evenly.
  19. True. Seems like something that belongs in the pet peeve thread, come to think of it.
  20. Other polls I've seen shows Drumpf closing the gap, though. It appears that there are at least some 'skeptical' Republicans who are closing ranks, and just enough younger men who still see him as a 'successful businessman.'
  21. I grew up in a place where casual racism was the norm, as well as the belief that cities were 100% more dangerous than they really were. I didn't understand it then, and I understand it even less today.
  22. Having my formerly semi-feral cat climb into my lap.
  23. I only saw part of the show once, and thought it made him look like a (select censored word here). Then again, I was already prejudiced against him.
  24. And many of those sources make Fox News look credible. Here in the NE, we've been subjected to Drumpf in the tabloids at least since the 80s, but that may not be true in other parts of the country.
  25. But there's plenty of fertilizer, hopefully one that's not too high in Phosphates.
