one of the things I'm not proud of as a kid was we'd have fun with another kid who wasn't all there in the head, so to speak. He'd do anything we asked him to. Stand up on his bike while riding.... drink anything we mixed together.... we asked him to climb into the basket on his bike and he did that and crashed.... he had a head injury from falling on his bike. Didn't have a helmet. We were 13-14 years old. How many thousands of other kids had the same thing happen to them because wearing a helmet wasn't normal at the time? Now we have adults making fun of other adults for wearing a helmet. I can't think of anything more childish and immature and it really speaks to someone's character. Here's a guy in his 70's getting some exercise and able to ride a bike and some fat ass clown like Eric Trump mocks him for a helmet and a poster here agrees? Fuck that. You people suck.

I had a lady pull that on me... she was.... a wife to a cop. We work out in fitness classes in a building that's also the community center which includes a theater. One of our instructors bought, out of her own pocket, one of those heavy duty wagons so we could move our weights when going to either the gymnasium or outside. Some of his chipped in since we benefited from it. At some point it went missing. A few months later we were wandering around some of the meeting rooms and we found it in a kitchen area. I started to take out was in it and she came up and asked what i was doing. I told her the cart didn't belong there, it was for the fitness area as we bought it out of our own pockets and we've been looking for it. Heated discussion ensued and she said "Listen, do you know who I am married to?" I just shrugged and said I didn't care and when she told me I advised if that mattered then call him, I'll be in fitness studio #2. Basically the theater people were looking for a wagon and found one so they just took it.

I watched a thing on Lewinsky last year and realized they were all rotten to her. Yes it was a consensual relationship between two adults but the power dynamic is there, he’s the freaking president, she was a 14 year old girl in 22 year old woman’s body. I strongly recommend everyone read David Halberstam's book The Fifties. He goes into great detail explaining that while great for some people, for many others it wasn't. Women could get fired for being pregnant. Blacks were still being lynched. They couldn't go to good schools. Housewives in families who moved into the suburbs were trapped in a cycle with no support and were often very depressed. The church and other religious fanatics were fighting the development of The Pill. It goes on and on. If you were a white male the 50's were great. Everyone else? Not so much. "The best" is hard to define. Do you mean music you personally prefer to listen to or do you mean who had the biggest impact on the whole spectrum of popular music (not pop but rather music consumed by millions of people)? They've all influenced and entertained so many. Personal taste is just that. Depends on when you were born and what your listening preferences are. The Beatles are so technically great, that can't be disputed can it? The other 3 influenced so many though. But they influenced different people and branches of music. The Stones gave hope to so many garage bands that they didn't have to be as proficient and perfect as the beatles. They could be sloppy. Zeppelin influenced more harder bands.
