  1. Perez is making a case to keep his spot as a starter fulltime. Meanwhile, a perfect start to the BIG series.
  2. Tiger's still need to trade for a starter and reliever(at least 1). Enns ain't it. The only reason there's not much chirpin' of the last oh 12 games.. is the putrid play of the other divisional teams. Unbelievably, the Tiger's have a losing record last 13 but STILL lead by 12 games. The pitching is not sustainable now in these dog days of summer. Hitters get hotter and pitchers start to wear out. Not all but on average. Really need to do something soon before there's an upsurge with Cleaveland. It will happen.
  3. 1970. 1971 was the Reggie Jackson roof tower shot at Tiger stadium and all the HoF hitters many who hit homers that game.
  4. In 76' Jason Thompson hit like 16 homers in a couple months the second half of the season and 31 in 77'. I was sitting along the 1st base line and saw him and Ben Olglivie hit balls foul but over the roof down the right field line. I think Ben got robbed too.
  5. Did they clone 3 Milt Cuyler's?
  6. At least weather won't be an issue. Suppose to be a great day and much less muggy. They can start working on fixing their putrid past Saturday outcomes.
  7. Not a great start of the second half of the season ( vs. a divisional foe ) this is were the real baseball season starts
  8. Pitcher threw 9 breaking balls. 2 were strikes to them.
  9. Same goes for a pitcher's error goes as unearned runs as well, which I never can understand. A pitcher make the error, that should be go against him.
  10. I guess we can coast for awhile, considering the division is a pile of £¥¡¿. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.
  11. Time to sit Carps for Perez and Tork for keith. Carp has done nothing since the 3 homer game and Tork is just being himself. Back to normal crappiness. Play guys who are performing
  12. I liked it better when we had dominate pitching and everyone complaining about hitting. Give me good pitching and defense anyday. This team is concerning. Jack serving up batt8ng practice and no one in the BP who can strike anyone out. Yick.
  13. Can't believe they didn't make that happen to start with. Now it might
  14. I saw Robin Yount hit it off the facing of the upper deck a little to the left of center and of course on opening day of 1985 Larry Herndon hit it off the facing into a stiff breeze straight away. That was the hardest hit ball I've ever seen. They lost 4-1 and Sparky was not impressed saying " I'm not a home run guy" lol.
  15. They walked it off about 20 years ago and determined the 440 sign is actually 420.
  16. Devers must be toxic as hell for the Sox to get rid of him for a bucket of prospects. For those that wonder why the Tiger's didn't try to trade probably a lot better package... he's sort of a jerk and no matter what his WAR and OPS+ is they don't want that on the team. Plus, the Giants are picking up the rest of his 313 million dollar contract.
  17. One of my favorites. Harrelson's demeanor and cadence was top notch. As was his knowledge of the game and intensity. In fact, a self admitted hot-head who speant many years trying to control his temper. Showed his emotions on his sleave and was a reason to tune him in on WGN back when that was a thing along with Harry Carry with the cubbies. Also, one of the great sports stories with his short but interesting baseball playing career and foray in pro golf his legendary style statements and career ending injuries and then GM of the White Sox to broadcasting. Should be a movie made of Hawk.
  18. Flaherty's ERA went from a respectable 3.41 to over 4. Ouch
  19. He was a .280 hitter who never walked and limited power. Those were the Tiger's choice of offense. Throwback to 60's 70's. where the media would get exited over someone who could hit over .270 no matter any stupid anylitics crap.
  20. Wind should be blowing in today. Let's try to keep the balls in the park this time..
  21. But they scored 13 one game Wow!
  22. The smoke held it up.
  23. Rob Deer! He's missing a lot of middle middle balls. I'm a Tork fan but still not sold he's over anything.
