  1. Tiger's playing like the pre-All-Star blehs. Basking in their 6 selections. Let's get back to that gritty hard working team we know..
  2. Yes. His swing is teetering on Russell Branyan teritory. I mean, extreme upercut in if he makes contact it goes a long way but most of the time it doesn't.
  3. Aren't those 6 out of a hat of 20 or so that you could pick from and not notice the difference. I mean, there's no Alonso or Bonds or Gambini that you can identify with. Edit. Actually Buxton , Raleigh and Acuna Jr. could be HoF guys but it's hard for me to get into this Home Run Derby like in the past.
  4. Why the funky game time?
  5. Speaking of unrelated stats. I was browsing Baseball Reference and was curious to discover Oakland A's great Blue 'Moon' Odom had a higher WAR as a hitter ( 3.4 ) than pitcher ( 2.2 ). I knew he was a good hitting pitcher but thought he had a better pitching career... had some bad seasons I guess..
  6. To be honest I was dead set to see them lose this 1-0. Still would have been happy to see another 1-0 game. Win or lose. Either way the pitching got back to the standards you need for a Championship team this Holiday weekend.
  7. These low scoring games are more like it. The pitching has to get right again. Skubal has to be on his A-game. Hard to sweep a team like the Guardians at home and completely shut them down. I expect them to score a few. Offense has to pick it up
  8. First pitch weak swing
  9. Perez is making a case to keep his spot as a starter fulltime. Meanwhile, a perfect start to the BIG series.
  10. Tiger's still need to trade for a starter and reliever(at least 1). Enns ain't it. The only reason there's not much chirpin' of the last oh 12 games.. is the putrid play of the other divisional teams. Unbelievably, the Tiger's have a losing record last 13 but STILL lead by 12 games. The pitching is not sustainable now in these dog days of summer. Hitters get hotter and pitchers start to wear out. Not all but on average. Really need to do something soon before there's an upsurge with Cleaveland. It will happen.
  11. 1970. 1971 was the Reggie Jackson roof tower shot at Tiger stadium and all the HoF hitters many who hit homers that game.
  12. In 76' Jason Thompson hit like 16 homers in a couple months the second half of the season and 31 in 77'. I was sitting along the 1st base line and saw him and Ben Olglivie hit balls foul but over the roof down the right field line. I think Ben got robbed too.
  13. Did they clone 3 Milt Cuyler's?
  14. At least weather won't be an issue. Suppose to be a great day and much less muggy. They can start working on fixing their putrid past Saturday outcomes.
  15. Not a great start of the second half of the season ( vs. a divisional foe ) this is were the real baseball season starts
  16. Pitcher threw 9 breaking balls. 2 were strikes to them.
  17. Same goes for a pitcher's error goes as unearned runs as well, which I never can understand. A pitcher make the error, that should be go against him.
  18. I guess we can coast for awhile, considering the division is a pile of £¥¡¿. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.
  19. Time to sit Carps for Perez and Tork for keith. Carp has done nothing since the 3 homer game and Tork is just being himself. Back to normal crappiness. Play guys who are performing
  20. I liked it better when we had dominate pitching and everyone complaining about hitting. Give me good pitching and defense anyday. This team is concerning. Jack serving up batt8ng practice and no one in the BP who can strike anyone out. Yick.
  21. Can't believe they didn't make that happen to start with. Now it might
  22. I saw Robin Yount hit it off the facing of the upper deck a little to the left of center and of course on opening day of 1985 Larry Herndon hit it off the facing into a stiff breeze straight away. That was the hardest hit ball I've ever seen. They lost 4-1 and Sparky was not impressed saying " I'm not a home run guy" lol.
  23. They walked it off about 20 years ago and determined the 440 sign is actually 420.
  24. Devers must be toxic as hell for the Sox to get rid of him for a bucket of prospects. For those that wonder why the Tiger's didn't try to trade probably a lot better package... he's sort of a jerk and no matter what his WAR and OPS+ is they don't want that on the team. Plus, the Giants are picking up the rest of his 313 million dollar contract.
