  1. It figures in an odd sort of way. Bibi wasn't going to get a go ahead from Biden, but he probably thought he could wait and he might one from Trump, but when Trump turned out not to be so gung-ho as he hoped, he decided he was going without US co-operation.
  2. LOL - Apparently an amazing response to my email to AOC that he had to go....🤣
  3. Hockey was a little late to the party in terms of big athletes, though they've caught up now. I remember Frank Mahovlech was considered a big guy in his day. 6'0"
  4. maybe he was
  5. I was worried when Gleyber didn't make the DP turn that they had opened the proverbial door, but they wedged it back shut...
  6. 500 on the road is supposed to be good enough - Tiger don't care.
  7. Needed the long ball as they were getting BaBIP’d on everything else
  8. Tork gets fights back into the count and Ks anyway.
  9. another 2 out baserunner
  10. Lot of Tigers hitters coming back to earth this series.
  11. Tigers only seem to hit with 2 out in this series.
  12. Tork missed the RBI by a few milliseconds.
  13. I think Dirks is a better game analyst than Petry and his presentation skill is better as well, but that is a different question than whether he and Benetti screw around more than they should, which they do.
  14. Like the reversal on Rand Paul's party invite. Some staffer probably did that and then Trump reversed it.
  15. I can understand the confusion as MLB had a large story with the headline "SGL's 615 Day Journey". IDK where they got 615 days from when he had come to ST in 24 and was pitching in Toledo by May of 25.
  16. Boeing 787 went down on takeoff in India. One survivor, several people on the ground killed. Plane got airborne and just appeared to lose power and come back down. No apparent loss of control or attitude. Multiple bird injestion being cited as a possibility
  17. Cup of coffee with Houston and Toronto but didn't stick. His results at Toldeo have been pretty decent. Maybe he's picked up a new trick or two this season -
  18. SGL pitched at Toledo through the end of '23 season. He went to the IL early in April or May of '24 after issues started in ST. https://www.milb.com/player/sawyer-gipson-long-687830?stats=gamelogs-r-pitching-mlb&year=2023
  19. the only thing about blaming it on the pitch clock is that injuries just kept getting worse all the years the games kept getting longer. Recovery time effects might cut either way. Keeping the total hours under stress down may have benefit in the opposite direction as extending the same exertion over a longer period.
  20. The Tigers are 9-1 in games started by Jackson Jobe, The BoSox are 7-8 in games started by Marcello Mayer. The Defense rests.
  21. The league wants to deny it but I think it tracks pretty well with hard slider usage. JV threw hard for years, no problem, he needed TJ the year after his slider usage exceeded 30%+. Max has gone longer than almost anyone without a TJ - has always keep his slider usage down (despite that he must have been tempted to use it more.) Sure there is lots of noise that makes it hard to get a strong correlation but when you look at the overall trend toward more breaking ball use, and clear mechanical logic that you must pronate to throw a slider, that's enough for me to make the assumption and say "prove it isn't true."
  22. Dancing on Jobes misfortune because Marcello Mayer had a good night.
  23. If it's the one I think, yeah - it was in really poor taste, which interestingly is not a failing I normally associate with Henning, he has enough others.
  24. Best of luck. My memory of MN was that social services were strong at every level, I hope the cities and counties will try to pick up some of the slack.
