  1. I thought 'brah' was Gaelic for 'forever'
  2. To come back to earth a little, the schedule may have left the Ducks a little wasted, but winning the ones you should is a step in the right direction.
  3. Kenny was sure they could not possibly over-turn - mostly because his skate was pretty much still on the ice. Mickey kept telling him that little flick of heel was going to be enough to void it.
  4. He and Larkin the best two players on the ice for either team tonight. Seider may miss ROY but there should be a Norris in his future.
  5. Correct, it was a comment, not an arg. I do occasionally go beyond dialectic as the only allowed from of discourse.
  6. I find the distinction between legal and illegal immigration a marketing tour de force by the GOP since most of the immigrants that got this country off the ground came before there were any immigration laws at all - they just showed up - so they are no different than all the people that Americans today are so happy to label as different because they are 'illegal' when the only real difference is that they are little browner than the people who come from Western Europe that we decided had more right to that 'legal' marketing label. Guaranteed if we were being inundated by British Boris Johnson refugees without green cards no-one would care a whit.
  7. Yeah - I'd say an in person interview qualifies as some variety of combustion process. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/vikings-interviewing-jim-harbaugh-for-coaching-vacancy-this-week-feel-hes-ready-for-nfl-return-per-report/
  8. Do you remember who our coaches were last time Mary Sue was minding the store?? 😜 but I meant more along the lines not that the sum was too much in general but that given money was not to be wasted, that I wouldn’t pay that much for an only occasionally successful but continual headache like Harbaugh.
  9. Right. Most people likely to judge him an idiot have probably never heard of him because they don’t listen to that genre of media.
  10. He looked like he was playing Joss Ackland playing a Russian ambassador.!
  11. UM Athletic dept. just announced a $48M loss. Chengelis confirms interview with Vikings. I wouldn't be surprised if Warde has told him that if the Vikings are willing to give him north of $8M he should take it.
  12. Washtenaw CO reporting only 173 cases today. Down ~90% from the peak a couple weeks ago. Case rate under 50/100K. We used to think that was an outrageously high number, now we just hope the report isn't an outlier.
  13. I suppose, but OTOH they will still probably end up paying similar chunk back in increased premiums over x years
  14. He's just a great selfless service - to the next person on the transplant list....
  15. IDK, U is big enough that it takes a 'self insure' approach on at least some stuff.
  16. Manuel seems to be a solid manager, i think he can weather finding a coach if it comes to it
  17. Screw him, he either wants the job or he doesn’t. He beats OSU once in 7 yrs and suddenly he the latest thing since sliced bread? If he thinks he’s not getting enough $$$ love back from the U he needs to read the papers; they just wrote one $500 M check they probably haven’t figured out how to cover.
  18. Really, and maybe the last thing we need is another Ivy League law schooler, like that supposed measure of ‘qualification’ doesn’t come with without all its own biases and limitations of “real” experience.
  19. gave up 5 goals in the last 11 min.
  20. Do they have recall options in VA?
  21. And misinformation even more, to others…..
  22. so that means the Russians will be probing to start some kind of incident to use as pretext that they didn't start the shooting. But by now I think that is pretty well anticipated as Putin's strategy. Things are just getting more explicit.
  23. right - and don't underestimate the religious aspect. The American MS media doesn't focus on it because it doesn't resonate with the frequencies of their cultural antennae, but Putin wraps himself in the mantel of the Orthodox church as the defender of all that is holy against the 'corruption' of Western cultural liberalism. There are not a few in the US for whom that resonates as the same cultural warfare in which they see themselves engaged. We also tend to miss that in the US because we are conditioned to think of Soviet "Godless Communism" and Putin as an heir of that because of his KGB background, but the fact is that he positions himself as heir to both the Soviet geographical empire and the Tsarist Orthodox cultural legacy and has largely co-opted today's Russian Orthodox church.
