  1. Extracurriculars about Taylor and strip clubs aside, they finally kinda landed on the conclusion that they needed to reach on catcher: as unsettled and not good as the position is, this team has much bigger fish to fry. At least on the surface. Harris may have different ideas or may not have an order in which to upgrade certain positions, but on paper at least, catcher seems sort of down the list and they could live with some combo of Haase/Rogers + low level signing if they had to.
  2. I understood exactly what you said. My point is that I know with metaphysical certitude that one is wrong, while I don't know for sure that the other one is. That makes them fundamentally different when thinking about ascertaining the facts of what happened here. Put another way, the SFPD has way more credibility to speak to the facts of this case than a random conspiracy blog
  3. That's fine, I get it. But I think one can be open minded about what the ultimate motivation may have been while being willing to discount conspiracy theories from conspiracy websites. Not sure what elicited this. I'm trying to be respectful in discussing this.
  4. Your initial post suggested you were not discounting the conspiracy theory advanced by the website. One can both dislike Paul Pelosi while recognizing the lack of veracity of what Elon shared on his website
  5. Polls in Brazil have closed, Bolsanaro appears to not be hitting his numbers. Will he respect the results?
  6. Exactly. Its unclear why a conspiracy website who has done zero actual reporting (and is even up front about their speculation) should even be taken at face value or why their takes merit consideration
  7. I'm willing to go out on a limb and suggest that there's a 100% probability that "smobserved.com" is wrong and should be dismissed at face value. Which differentiates them from law enforcement. They are no more reputable than the Weekly World News running an article talking about aliens on earth.
  8. I get it. Although I will go out a limb and suggest that SFPD is more of a source for info on what happened than something called "smobserved.com"
  9. Thank you for elaborating.
  10. Fair enough. But taking you at face value, one can assume that you believe the article amplified by Musk is speculative and conspiracy ridden and built on a lie? Particularly given SFPD coming out and saying the two didn't know each other? Yes?
  11. Gotta say, there's a lot of cognitive dissonance in admonishing folks for not adequately complaining about political or media narratives while simultaneously giving credence to a highly speculative and conspiracy ridden article that pushes a rather convenient narrative for its POV
  12. Well, this should put that conspiracy theory to bed. (Although I doubt it will because it's not the most convenient answer for some folks)
  13. And it being Game 1 of the World Series... A 65% probability catch in the sixth inning of Game 80 during the regular season is naturally gonna get less attention than one that happens in the 9th inning of Game 1 of the WS with the game on the line.
  14. This.... a different fielder with more range or who is better positioned maybe makes that catch with more ease, but given the time in the game and context (WS Game 1, on the road, significant underdog), the pressure was ratcheted up greatly.
  15. Turn the Corner is by far the best of the bunch, but they are particularly bad with dedicating time to things other than the Tigers.
  16. But he wears a fleece vest on the campaign trail, so he must be reasonable lol
  17. School shootings or even shootings of public figures in public settings can often be blamed on nebulous things despite evidence to the contrary. If someone goes to the effort and breaks into a public figure like Nancy Pelosi's house, which undoubtedly has more security than the average person, and beats her husband with a hammer, it's really hard to spin that away as being because of some nebulous other reason. Put another way, if you are breaking into Nancy Pelosi's house, screaming "Where's Nancy", and end up beating her husband, there's little reason to believe it isn't political.
  18. Maybe he can give the keynote at the next Republican Convention.... lol
  19. I listen to two of them (Turn Corner and Woodward Tigers).... the former tends to have more actual inside info which makes it a must listen (despite the BBQ tales and frequent college stories, which I tend to tune out on anyway), the latter tends to give more fan-based perspective, which I find interesting enough to hang with. Although I tend to disagree with them a decent amount of the time and think they aren't that much more knowledgeable than anyone here. The blogging world for the team leaves a lot to be desired.... Motor City Bengals in particular is pretty much textbook for your second point, it tends to be all speculation and none of it particularly knowledgeable.
  20. Setting aside how terrible it is, it's interesting how little confidence they are projecting about this upcoming election in Pennsylvania.
  21. That's what I get for not reading the thread.... predictable, but nonetheless disgusting
  22. It's sad to say this, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they didn't try to tie it into their messaging on crime.
  23. Insanity
