  1. Random, but since Toledo is playing Scranton/Wilkes Barre this week: Would it be worth it for the Tigers to trade for Miguel Andujar, who the Yankees have stashed away playing 3rd and OF down there? What would it take from this system to get him?
  2. It's tempting to just be glass is half empty about everything that happens with this franchise (thanks Al!), but with this trade, I don't think we've had a big enough window to declare it a failure at this point. Same with the ERod signing as well btw, since I've seen people call him Jordan Zimmermann from practically his first start.
  3. You don't want to read too much into a waiver claim, but my first reaction to them claiming Sanchez was that it may speak to how the organization feels about Barnhart going forward. Not that he's gonna be DFA'd or anything, but rather that the talk of extending him is a thing of the past I don't know that Sanchez is a major league starter, but I doubt he's a guy that is stuck on a AAA roster for the next three years.
  4. 26% CS this year, 35% CS in 2021. ~.990 fielding percentage. He seems solid behind the dish.
  5. Yeah, Policelli isn't a major leaguer.... Sanchez probably can be.
  6. He ended DFA'd up off the St. Louis 40 man to make room for Jack Flaherty. Similar to how Brendon Davis ended up here, probably trying to sneak him through without anyone noticing.
  7. Come on.... it's clearly Door #1.
  8. It'd be nice if some of these cash considerations could be used on picking up something useful
  9. I think this is right. Maybe Paredes ends up the better end of the trade. Very well could considering the conditional draft pick, tbh. But I'd rather see how it plays out going forward, at least into next year, before rendering a judgment.
  10. Meadows' cost per production is irrelevant to me... I do believe, even now, he is capable of holding up his end of the trade.
  11. He only had 23 games, 72 plate appearances last year in 162 games last year. He's been in 31 games, 86 plate appearances through 68 games this year. He never had the runway he needed to get off the ground here, he's getting more runway this year. That seems like a significant factor to me.
  12. Andre Lipcius had a big night for Erie as well, 3/4, 2B, 4 RBI... always forget about him, but he's picked it up lately
  13. The past four or so games kinda give you the contours of what next year could look like offensively. But, since we've talked about him a lot tonight, beara mentioning that they really need Meadows back and producing.
  14. No doubt, I agree...
  15. To be fair, you could easily point to Chafin giving up the dong to Vazquez.
  16. Cora going to get Schreiber and his slider for Baez
  17. Roboumps yesterday
  18. Gregory Soto for the 6th inning, whos with me? lol
  19. That's when you get the comments about the quality of the Mexican League....
  20. All the beat writers tripping overthemselves to retweet Paredes big night tonight (including Stavenhagen) all seemed to be on the same page with the FO as well.
  21. That would have required a different GM. I'm not kidding, I don't think he was getting the opportunity he needed here.
  22. Sure. Hence the Old Testament luck. But it's similar to the ERod thing where people are already calling him Jordan Zimmermann. It's kinda tiring and each of these guys, all under control for multiple years, will have opportunities to turn it around. As for Paredes, this org was never gonna give him the runway that he needed for better or worse. I'm glad that he landed somewhere where he's more valued.
