  1. And just like that, Harold Castro is tied for the lead in homers for the team! Can't make it up!
  2. Imagine being a starter for this team... putting up lights out numbers or holding the opposition to 2 runs or less doesn't guarantee much lol
  3. It kinda makes sense... there were an insane amount of foul balls in his last start, and the pitches weren't bad.
  4. I thought I had read previously that he's scheduled to travel to Toledo today and be on the roster there starting tmrw.
  5. Even setting aside Carpenter, who probably needs to move up a level, you still have Victor Reyes and Akil Baddoo, on top of Hill/Cameron who are still in the bigs, who will eventually get healthy and need spots to play. Whoever isn't on the 26 man roster in that competition will need playing time. Not to mention the org seems interested in giving Clemens/Davis reps in the outfield as well. Folks like Robson or Dylan Rosa, seems like they may be living on borrowed time, granted injuries have a way of taking care of these personnel things and ensuring guys have spots.
  6. All of these guys, Mize and Manning, could still be 1.5-2.0 WAR guys when it is all said and done... We live in the here and now when we assess these guys. Faedo is a great example... people kinda wrote him off, now he has people reconsidering
  7. They'd be better off with Jarred Kelenic?
  8. Just an epic run he's on...
  9. Brilliant move by the Gubner to schedule his press conference pivoting to recovery in Uvalde to run simultaneously with his pre-taped speech at the NRA Convention saying that nothing could have stopped this. Cynical as hell, but brilliant
  10. If he sticks with the Tigers and becomes a staple, they really should lean into the name similarities
  11. It's also hypocritical because the folks who trot out that ad hominem do so in order to more or less defend a status quo that allows for these events to happen.
  12. Harsh, but maybe Archie should internalize that when he worries about the poor gun owners, to a lot of folks, that comes across as complete disregard for the rights of kids to be able to go to a school without fear.
  13. I don't believe Abbott wanted the kids shot, but having observed him for years as a resident of the state that he governs, what motivates him in situations like these isn't "doing the right thing".... it's all political calculation. Particularly since COVID, everything he does reflects whatever the poll numbers among the GOP base says. Regardless of whether it is what, as the chief executive of the state, he should do. So yeah, when Abbott gets up there and genuflects to the cops in this particular situation when they aren't really deserving of it, I'm gonna hold that against him. Especially given that, again, he's the chief executive and the state law enforcement officials at the DPS, the same ones who were out there giving unreliable information for the past 48 or so hours, answer to him. The buck stops with him.
  14. Also, IIRC, the majority of guns intercepted in crimes committed in Chicago were acquired outside of both the city and the State of Illinois. Chicago/Illinois cannot control the gun laws in other jurisdictions
  15. It'll take the feds getting involved for anything trustworthy to come out of this.
  16. 100%. I hate it as well.
  17. Very well may be right, but he's kinda lost the plot as of late.
  18. Everything can be financed these days:
  19. I dont know enough about what is done in foreign countries, but in general, our media tends to demand very little accountability for politicians and access is a factor in that. I can't get over how it is expected that we get comment from AJ Hinch after every Tiger game yet that isn't a reasonable expectation for policy makers among the general populace.
