Yeah, that's the thing that is giving me pause... the Tigers approach was good yesterday, but Gausman's splitter wasn't very sharp as well.
Having said that, Javy will swing at literally everything if left to his own devices. So it's progress.
Part of me wants to rewatch his ABs today and see if he was doing anything differently or if Gausman, etc. were just too far out of the strikezone to be tempting
This was a very good win today... executed a fairly good game plan against Gausman, even if they didn't score a bunch. And Brieske pitched well enough even with the hard contact.
Offense hasn't done much, but I will give it to them that they've had a decent approach and generally haven't chased much on Gausman's splitter.
Gausman may also be a little off today, either way, credit where credit is due
