All of this may be true. But still, what the public does with the information doesn't change the fact that we all deserve to have it

A few years ago, the Dallas Stars had to fire their head coach (Jim Montgomery) because of off ice issues... I just remember how wild and toxic that conversation was down here where I live and, idk, it was kinda gross. Any number of reasons were speculated on. I believe it came out later that it was substance abuse, but he was ultimately the one to reveal and confirm it. As it should be

I don't think it's fair to speculate as to what might be have caused this to happen, fwiw.... just hope everything works out OK for all involved.

They did manage to get Reese Olson for Daniel Norris last year, which looks pretty good considering how poor Norris' numbers were. But I don't know if that's a reasonable expectations to get a deal like that again. The problem I see for the Tigers at the deadline is that, outside of Chafin and Fulmer, you have a lot of veteran guys on this team who would ideally be bait who have horrendous numbers so far, with little indication of much upside on return. And other guys who could be appealing, as you suggest, are bullpen guys like Lange and Vest who, given their age and how long they can be controlled, I have a hard time seeing them getting value that makes the risk of trading them worthwhile. Maybe if Schoop can go on a tear for a while in July, he could be interesting to teams, but idk, they are in that weird spot where none of the options make a lot of sense.

I would just add that, regarding the grift portion of the hearing today, that may be talked more about in future hearings, while there's a tendency to demean and mock those who contributed to the cause, but those who did and felt that they were doing so in good faith deserve the right to be educated. With that information, they can take it or leave it, but I don't see educating the public on how this campaign may have systematically defrauded people as a useless or fruitless endeavor. Regardless what (if any) macro political impacts it has.

I'm not a political historian, nor are a lot of my family or friends who may be following this. But people still want to understand what actually happened as opposed to just saying "he's always been a fraud, nothing is gonna happen to him, who cares, nothing matters". And from that knowledge educate future generations on what happened here in order to help future generations avoid the mistakes that we made by electing this clown. Because, while I don't know what comes next, but Trump is gonna die someday... and, along with him, a lot of his influence. And they may have the opportunity to fix a lot of the wrongs we are seeing today. I know this is probably a bit "glass half full" for this board, but being constantly negative all the time accomplishes nothing.
