  1. With the schedule they have coming up, the Tigers have a lot of incentive to get this one in as planned... unless they can convince the Royals to make this one up later in the season.
  2. Most generous reading is that he could be referring to the pitching staff getting some better than expected performances from Brieske, Faedo, Lange, Vest, etc. But that's a wildly out of touch answer when the reason for your failures has been in large part due to the regression of vets and lack of development offensively from younger players ranging from Tork to Vic Reyes.
  3. This is right.... just from last year's draft alone, they have Madden, Dylan Smith and Brant Hurter, who, with how they have performed, all look fairly promising. And Garrett Burhenn, who is still in Lakeland and probably shouldn't be based on his performance and experience level. It is by design, to an extent.. the team sanctioned Road to Detroit podcast had some interview clips with Ryan Garko this week where he said that they aspire to that endless supply of pitching, but I definitely think they are at a point where they can part with one or two of these guys or other prospects (such as Olson or Bergner) if it helps fill these short term positions of need, without it being too much of a burden to the system. But again, the question then becomes what any of those arms bring back on trade, even if they are paired with a bullpen piece.... fans tend to overrate what they can get in return.
  4. Cabrera earns his way back to Erie.... we'll see if he's any more successful this time.
  5. Honestly surprised that he has the Tigers picking Porter over Jace Jung in this scenario.... there has been a lot of speculation that the Tigers are high on Jung, plus he's a college bat.
  6. Robbie Grossman mentioned in this story. Curious to see what the end game is with Joey Gallo and the Yankees.... free agent at the end of the year, but to date, they still seem intent on going with him over Andujar in Pinstripes.
  7. Leonard or Vivas would be great, although IDK if Fulmer alone brings that back. I liked that Cody mentioned the Mets as well and Brett Baty, who would be a pretty good fit with where this team lacks, particularly if the team is concerned about Candy as a long term option. Although I doubt Soto would be enough and that the Mets will want to trade him lol I don't know how much of a sweetener it would be for teams, but the Tigers should be open to tapping their minor league pitchers to add to a reliever if it would generate a better return.
  8. The fact that it was even proposed to the board is problematic but unsurprising for this state.
  9. Political correctness run amok
  10. This is right and probably explains some of the Senate polling in PA and WI as well... Oz and Ron Johnson are choices as well.
  11. Wait.... the same Joe Rogan who for years has been associated with the liberalization of marijuana rights is shilling for a politician who is 100% on the opposite side of that issue? Shocking.
  12. The numbers in this poll were bizarre and probably the most stark example of the gap between Biden's JA numbers and Senate/Gov race polling... Biden is (iirc) -29 among Georgia voters, yet Abrams/Kemp are tied and Warnock is +10 over Walker. We've seen this in states like Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan this cycle, where the Senate/Gov candidates are running ahead of where Biden is JA wise, but not to the degree Warnock and Abrams are here. I don't know if that stands, it's counterintuitive, but it lends to the idea that a lot of Biden's drop in approval over time has come as much from his left flank as it has from his right. Then again, this is Quinnipiac.... not exactly the best polling outfit.
  13. With Ohtani heating up offensively, we're back to last year's MVP conversation. I don't care what Petriello says, if things continue on this course, Judge should win and it shouldn't be close.
  14. sanfransports.com is probably going nuts over that move by Kapler lol
  15. Glorified Neifi Perez right there lol
  16. Small detail, but am mystified why they keep sending Barnhart out there against left handed starters, particularly quality ones such as Rodon. That's basically akin to having a pitcher spot in the batting order
  17. Wenceel makes the MLB Pipeline list... Will be interesting to see where he slots when they rerank
  18. Skubal has looked better in this start than in his previous three, but the combination of the umps squeezing and the patience of the Giants hitters taking a toll some.
  19. Another big day for Wenceel, 2/5 with two doubles
  20. I'm not either, although I'm at least at a point where I think it's in the realm of possible.
  21. I'm not sure if I had seen this video before, but it really does play as performance art... Unfortunately the consequences aren't art, they are all too real
  22. This is an angle lol
