  1. Do we think Skubal is gonna miss a lot of time at this point? I honestly don't know, but it didn't look like he broke anything
  2. Kerry Carpenter with 2 homers and 2 doubles for Erie tonight... Any chance he can drive down I-90 and take some hacks?
  3. Pitching wise, they probably can. I dont see any excuse for the offense...
  4. Lol, nobody is hiring AJ away if they win 60 or less.
  5. And that's all folks. Gotta think Barnes is gone once Cisnero comes back, if not before lol
  6. Bullshit call by the umps
  7. Just horrendous luck for the pitching staff... nothing Skubal could do about that
  8. Meanwhile, they're making Civale look like Bob Feller lol
  9. Understood. Just saying that strikeouts are not the hill to die on when he has roughly the same level of Ks as the equivalent guys in our system
  10. No worse than Clemens and Kreidler, at least since he entered the Angels system.
  11. And there's no way he's opting out if he keeps it up! Lol
  12. He's on the COVID list.... which, in the grand scheme of things, is probably a win so long as others don't start testing positive lol
  13. The fact that Davis can play short would seems like a vote in his favor. It's actually a pretty good pickup for a waiver wire selection.... ranked out as LAA's #20 prospect per Pipeline.
  14. With Javy, I keep going back to the strikeout rate - Tiger fans who aren't used to watching the guy look at some of these pitches that he's swinging at and think that it's abnormal, yet his strikeout rate is currently lower than it has been at any point since 2016. The problem isn't the strikeouts - it's the quality of contact. Which has gotta be something mechanical that is causing him to top a bunch of balls and hit grounders as opposed to hitting line drives... the numbers show it as well, his ground ball % is way higher than career norms, and line drive % is lower. It's one of those things that, sooner or later, one would imagine he'll figure out and fix.
  15. Javy hasn't even been the worst of the SS class, as bad as he's been offensively.... that belongs to Marcus Semien, who has looked even more lost at the plate as a member of the Texas Rangers
  16. More on Brendon Davis, who the Tigers claimed today from the Angels: https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/angels-brendon-davis-resurrects-career-with-new-organization/
  17. No injury listed.... wonder what that's all about?
  18. To paraphrase the late Denny Green, "Javy Baez is who we thought he was".... Maybe this particular cold streak is longer than usual for him, but the team knew what they were getting when he signed.... and really, the strikeouts aren't so much the problem at this point (he's below his career averages) - it's that he's not making good contact and rolling over. Gotta think that will be fixed over time.
  19. There's a red moon rising... on the Cuyahoga River.... Rolling into Cleveland to the lake...
  20. That could make it easy as a fan to decide whether this thing is worth watching for the remaining 8 innings lol
  21. They have a spot for him, they just occupied it with Daz Cameron
  22. League average team, granted in a league where it can be tough for hitters...
  23. Not sure what more he needs to do to earn a callup.
