I would say this is comforting, but we also have a guy on the IL with vertigo, so....

Notably, Drew Hutchison is getting the start for the Mud Hens in Game 2 today.... apparently he resigned on a minor league deal? EDIT: Signed this morning and getting the start per milb.com

I'm wondering how TF they are planning on stitching together a rotation for at least the next month under these circumstances.... Skubal and Faedo seem solid enough at the moment, but Brieske and Wentz both probably still need time in Toledo to figure things out and the two long men they have on the roster (Wily/Rony) aren't stretched out enough to go 5 at the moment. And that's all assuming that none of them get hurt in the short term. What an absolute mess.

I don't know, tbh, but the questions seem valid at this point.... At this point, I don't know how they don't ramp up Wily Peralta.... G2 is right (per usual), they should have done it weeks ago.

Smooth sailing from here lol. In all seriousness, I'm not surprised they went after him given all the outfield injuries lol

Despite all the injuries, the bigger problem with the 2022 Tigers is the position players and their production at the plate. If I'm making a trade at this point, its for a bat, not a pitcher

They may actually have a similar amount of injuries to starters to the Tigers... But at least they have a winning record lol

More Wenceel Perez action...

At least on the 40... but as bad as things are, I dont see them being desperate enough to go get a AAAA guy (ie. Chase Anderson, Nivaldo Rodriguez) or throwing a Garrett Hill or Reese Olson into this mess.
-
I'm not sure they have much of a choice at this point, unless they plan on calling up another starter... Worth noting as well that Toledo was rained out, so Manning is likely not coming back until at least Tuesday next week. They'll need to find a way to cover Monday, whether from the Toledo set or from Wily or Rony or both.
-
Wonder how they handle this from a roster perspective.... can't bring Wentz up until 15 days after being sent down, yet probably not great to have Eddie on the active roster if you know he need an IL stint. Despite the pitching depth issues, a good argument to be had to bring up a position player until Wentz (or whoever) would need to start based on their offensive production.

All we are missing are locusts at this point lol

Bad news, AJ said that they'd still be playing the games after this lol
-
It was very predictable.... lol
-
That may be where Cisnero fits in when he gets back, because the trajectory that Fulmer is on at the moment is ominous.... not just the general wildness of Soto, but wildness plus lack of velocity.
-
Who knows, maybe Pineda has more brittle bones than an average human.... but yeah, that was fluky as hell.
-
I can see the argument from a service time manipulation perspective, given that this season looks like a lost cause at this point, but really, he needs to get more work with ML pitching. That won't happen in Toledo

TORK!
-
And people are worried about him opting out lol
-
Leadoff double by Tork as well.... it was a good swing!

lol. In all seriousness, I've had some gripes with his managing this year, but in terms of handling the clubhouse, I wouldn't put money against him keeping it all together through the lowest of lows. He knows how to handle players as well as any manager in my time watching this team.

As much as the injury problems center on the pitching, it's really the hitting that frustrates me more. Even right now, a 4-0 deficit shouldn't seem insurmountable, even against the Rays.... but these guys just can't hit enough.
