This was in reference to a NYT piece interviewing someone in El Paso who said they regretted their vote (ie Leopards eating faces circumstances) We have to stop thinking in generalities, these types of people are inevitably going to exist. To this end, there were a few times during late 2023 I would talk about inflation subsiding (just going off BLS numbers) and people would dismiss it out of hand. People go off their lived experiences, not government statistics. For better or worse.
