  1. Generally speaking, it's not clear to me that the free agents have as much leverage as we assume either. I'm sure the CBA figures into that as well.
  2. Texas is the only one I see who would do it for Correa. Maybe. It just seems like this is all part of a negotiation. And the Tigers, for their part, may just be trying to get the best possible deal for one of these guys versus just going hog wild and giving Lindor money away without doing due diligence. We don't know. I feel like people just see Jon Heyman tweets and lose their minds without understanding that there are motives to any leak.
  3. Sure. But as of the moment, based on reporting, who is the team aside from the Tigers likely to give Correa more than 300 million? Can you name the team that is sitting out there who will give him Lindor money? I don't have an answer for either of those questions at the moment. Doesn't mean they don't exist, we just don't know
  4. Just to expound upon this... In terms of Correa, a lot of time has been spent on the Tigers willingness to spend $300+ mil, not much has been spent talking about whether others are willing to give $300+ mil for Correa's services. Do we really know that others will at this point?
  5. Lynn Henning retweeted it lol. I do think he makes a fair point in that it isn't clear who out there may have offered more for Correa than the Tigers. It's the best natural fit on a number of levels.
  6. Now this is an interesting theory. Throughout this offseason, it really hasn't been clear that anyone is more interested in Correa's services than the Tigers. Rangers maybe?
  7. That's a fair point
  8. Exactly... likely means the Mets are out of the running. Less competition. Doesn't mean they'll get him, but I think the likelihood just increased a decent amount
  9. Uhh, this is sort of telling
  10. Could also be talking him up for a future trade as well, especially if they do land a big fish.
  11. Not sure how I feel about Baez being one of their top targets, although it has been amusing seeing Mets fans on Twitter being surprised that he may open to leaving them for the Tigers. Like, they are a dumpster fire atm lol
  12. At this point, I'd be surprised if we didn't get one of the Top 5 guys.
  13. I see what you did there lol
  14. I'm sure everyone who posts on this board agrees that making bad decisions is not OK. At the end of the day, insofar as I can tell, this comes down to the fact that some posters are insufficiently outraged in the eyes of other posters. Not much more to do than just agree to disagree.
  15. Dont tell me that, tell all the people on the thread that wanted him fired after today that.
  16. I mean, does much matter at the moment? I'm amazed at how much passion there is in this debate over Dan Campbell given how low stakes it is in the grand scheme of things. This is a historically bad football team... it's not a huge shock to me that they are struggling to win games. The previous regime left a flaming dumpster fire behind... different sport, but reminds me a lot of the flaming dumpster fire Randy Smith left behind pre 43-119 for the Tigers. Maybe Dan Campbell is a failure in the long run. Either way, canning him and bringing someone else in right this moment does not fix this. It just doesn't. The only thing that even begins to fix this is fixing the personnel
  17. Who is ignoring the bad decisions? Who is making excuses? As far as I can tell, the big difference here is that some people are insufficiently angry at Dan Campbell in the eyes of some. And don't want to can him at this point. Its irrational, and I'm not sure how to have a fair conversation about any of this.
  18. I'm sorry that disapproval of Dan Campbell isn't adequate enough for you, I guess.
  19. How many times do I need to keep saying that I think his playcalling sucks? 5 more? 10 more? Christ. Maybe, just maybe, the problems run a little deeper than Dan Campbell.
  20. Then what are we arguing about exactly? I'm not sure I've seen a single person in this thread suggest Dan Campbell has done well at his job this season.
  21. One thing I'd like to see from Campbell (although I doubt I will see) is a recognition that the team would be better off if Lynn is calling plays. Just put ego aside, admit that it isn't working, move on and try to fix the other aspects of being a head coach in this league. It's not an easy job. And my honest read is that he's in over his head at the moment with what is currently on his plate.
  22. Also thankful they arent the Lions lol
  23. This is basically where I come down. Which apparently makes one a Dan Campbell apologist lol
  24. Why do you assume there is daylight between Holmes and Campbell? Honest question, I don't recall seeing any reporting to the effect
  25. Maybe he sucks and will be gone within a couple of years. I really dont know. But firing him right now will not change a single thing about their situation.
