3 playoff teams is about as good as I remember for a long time. Not just squeaking into a playoff spot but very exciting and competitive teams.

He complained pitchers were pitching him like he was Ted Williams. Well, Ted hit .400, so if they were pitching him like they did Williams, he woulda hit better. 🤫🤫

Along with having much better pitching. JV and Zumaya made a huge difference. The comparison to Tram was always unfair.

But quality Hinch teams are basically just starting. We may be comparing the 2006 to 2012 teams to the 2024 to 2030 teams. A championship in the next 5 years or so would be better results than anything Leyland did.

Well, Colorado SP for the early game is a LH pitcher, if that matters. Rest Carpenter (to start) and use Malloy? Use Ibanez at 3rd and sit Jung? Hinch has a lot of movable parts.

Agreed. I like Chafins personality but he doesn't throw enough strikes anymore. Our pitchers pound the strike zone, mostly. The bar is high.

Nationals came back and beat Cleveland in the 1st game of a DH. 10-9. Cleveland stinks!

Every team has to have a player. Even the White Sox. There will be some very deserving players kept off from every team. New York and Boston may have 3 or 4 players but Detroit? No, not so much.

Watching the Nationals blow a 4 run lead in the 7th inning reminds me of the Tigers a few years back. Their pitchers can't throw strikes and fall behind every hitter.

I kinda figured that after looking at tomorrow's weather. They may struggle even getting one in tomorrow. I never like baseball in 45⁰ weather. Play a day game....

Chafin just pitched an inning for the Nats against Cleveland. He struggled but finished the inning without giving up a run. The Tigers are a better team without him. Nibbling at the strike zone, taking forever to throw a pitch and pretty wild. I'm happy with our BP.
