  1. Yes, Cabrera struggles his last couple of seasons reminds me of old broken down Babe Ruth footage when he was on the Boston Braves. Just a shell of his former greatness. Cabrera is a sure Hall of Famer and was given an excellent sendoff by the Tigers and by MLB. He'll be remembered more for his greatness than his struggles near the end. Javy? Not so much. If the Tigers can find a decent replacement, it will be good riddance to him. Eat the contract and move on.
  2. Didn't Gibbs miss a couple of games too?
  3. I agree but I don't think the Tigers will cut Javy until they find a replacement. You can't go into 2025 without the most important position player. If they go into next spring with puff pieces in the media about how much Baez is expected to improve....ugh.
  4. I think the fans only hope is finding a young player who's blocked at the ML level to trade for. Maybe he's already in our system, I don't know. But with Javy's contract, I don't see us signing an established player. Too expensive and we're more than 1 position away from contending.
  5. I agree. But McStinkys offense isn't much better. And his defense is a huge drop off. Javy is the best we have...and then there's the matter of his contract..
  6. I love Javy's defense. And his baserunning, when he gets on base. But he's basically the worst hitter in MLB. Sacrifice defense for offense? I don't know...
  7. I had to look it up, I had no idea what it is. Is a hitter breaking that bone just by swing or fouling off a pitch a reason to worry? I could see breaking it getting hit or fouling a pitch off of it but just swinging the bat? Maybe he hurt it sliding or playing defense the day before or something? It seems a bit concerning...
  8. Wockenfuss was another favorite of mine. I hated to see him traded for some relief pitcher I had never heard of. But...it worked out pretty well...
  9. Went down a baseball rabbit hole looking up Champ. He was a favorite of mine when he played for us. I didn't know he had passed away. And I didn't remember he played against us in the '84 WS. Only 1 at bat, but still...
  10. No sound...but it looks good. Is this kid a shortstop?
  11. Historic brawl;
  12. I wouldn't like him breaking that bone just swinging. Some type of impact injury would explain it better. Diving for a ball, sliding or hit by pitch. Just swinging a bat? I never heard of that. And it wouldn't be great for the future..
  13. Agreed. But looking at that kick? It woulda been good from 74 yards. Totally amazing. I have to admit, I never thought I would see that.
  14. I can't argue with that. But maybe a strong leg will allow Campbell to try to put points on the board instead of going for it so much on 4th downs? Naw...I don't think so. 😅😅
  15. They need to expend the strike zone. Little ittby bitty fellas hitting 30 home runs a year is ridiculous.
  16. Vest had the guy he walked in the 9th inning struck out but the ump was too afraid to call it.
  17. SF ran themselves into a loss. Give the Tigers credit, they capitalized on the Giants baserunning stupidity.
  18. Hanifee did a good job. Gulp...
  19. Just waiting for the 9th inning meltdown. Who's available in the BP today? Foley prolly needs another day off?
  20. 3-2...gone 3 minutes taking out the garbage, come back and it's 5-2. Cool...
  21. If I were a manager, I would bench ANY player wearing sunglasses on his hat. They look very stupid. Baddoo looks like an idiot.
  22. Congrats to Dingler with his first dinger. I was more excited for him than I was for the runs!!
  23. Me thinks Arby's is safe....
