  1. On paper, the Tigers should be able to hit Wacha tonight. But baseball may happen...
  2. He almost ruined Kirk Gibson by comparing him to Mickey Mantle.
  3. Lmao...he made the team because of good spring training stats...lmao "Pittaro had no expectations of getting promoted to “The Show” in 1985. “Honestly, I was prepared to go to Triple A,” he said. “When I got to camp I just wanted to open some eyes.” But when Pittaro hit well over .300 and displayed good instinctual glove work during spring training, Tigers manager Sparky Anderson raised eyebrows, gushing that Pittaro had “a chance to be the greatest second baseman who ever lived.”
  4. It must be rough all the back and forth from MLB to the minors and then back again. He's depth at this point, a #6 SP. We'll see what happens at the trade deadline, if he could pitch better, it may increase his value. I would hate to trade any SP but this Tiger team needs more offense, somewhere in the lineup.
  5. I hope he kicks it into another gear and starts hitting enough to help the team more. But he is a very one dimensional player...below average defense, not very fast and not a contact hitter. Hitting home runs is his game. A young Rob Deer. That's not an insult, it's a goal. But he's only had 1/2 of a season of consistent hitting, last season he hit 20 of him home runs after the All Star break. I look for more consistency. But...most home run hitter are pretty streaky.
  6. Very true and I hope the best for Jamo too. I wouldn't be against Holmes bringing in another receiver though. A veteran on a one year contract type of player. We have the money (I think) and adding depth would be a good thing.
  7. I don't care what his WHIP was for this game. He gave us 5 innings and left with the score tied. Yeah, it wasn't his best outing but I repeat, he kept us in the game.
  8. I agree he only kept us in the game because Arizona is struggling. But the bottom line is he put us in a position to win. He made pitches when he needed to. He definitely didn't have his best stuff but what's expected from a #6 starter? Oh well...
  9. I don't care if Arizona loves Tork, he's been very inconsistent so far in his career. Sorry if it hurts but it's just a fact.
  10. Phillies fans are loving themselves some Kody Clemens. Good for him!
  11. No. Absolutely not. He's a power hitter that occasionally runs into one. He'll be lucky to hit .250 with 25 home runs or so. Hoping to elevate his game into Rob Deer territory.
  12. Manning kept us in the game. I'm not being critical. And Arizona doesn't look like the same team that made it to the World Series last season. They look more like the WSox...lol
  13. Arizona isn't playing very good right now. Manning kept us in the game, decent for a #6 starter.
  14. Holton has turned into a good weapon outta the BP.
  15. Holmes drafted him for a reason. But with all the injuries in the NFL, depth is a good thing. We need another receiver.
  16. Sure did. And I saw the mistake MLB At Bat made. Chicago was our only sweep? Pretty sad if so...
  17. 5 outta first 6. We lost one to the Mets.
  18. Dan Petry was just talking about that during post-game last night. He said that pitchers who think they can hit after not picking up a bat for 10 years are delusional. I wonder if Daniel Norris was the last Tiger pitcher to get a hit?
  19. I don't know how many runs a game the Tigers average but I'm positive it's not 10.5 (average last 2 games), so if you believe in statistics, we'll be getting shutout in the next several games. <ducks>
  20. It's even worse. All of this crappy merchandise shows that. Maybe they'll get an idea for a new hat...Wednesday Hats...for a limited time...$50.00. Lol
  21. But that contract is very team friendly. It was with the expectation that Keith wouldn't turn into Scotty Sizemore 2.0.
  22. Player (and agent) greed really turns me off. Offer him a fair contract to make him and his family rich for life and if he turns it down, let him walk. We have a few good SP coming up soon.
  23. True. But some teams really need pitching. And if they have a blocked SS, the Tigers should gladly take him off their hands...lol
  24. Wait until they're almost free agents. Rinse and repeat...
