  1. It's clear all the way from my house to Comerica. Has been for hours...
  2. I'm south of Comerica and it hasn't even drizzled in 2 hours. Weather forecasts are very unreliable and they could have played today. The game was called too soon.
  3. Yeah, about 5:30. My driveway is dry, I'm sure a well maintained baseball field has excellent drainage. This game was called too early. They didn't even try to play...
  4. It's not even raining. They coulda played.
  5. Those bats didn't break like the bats of today. And watching older games on YouTube? They didn't change the ball very often. They could play an entire inning with one ball. These modern days players are so spoiled...😁
  6. And, TBF, Colt is very raw. I see the potential the Tigers are counting on and from the eye test, he looks like our 2nd baseman for the next 10+ years. Working with many different hitting coaches could be a bad thing. Too much advice that's been thrown at the hitters. So whenever there's a change, many players won't buy in until they see success. Hitting wise, whatever they're doing, isn't working. We could just blame the weather and root for them to stay close until it warms up. I know Javy will struggle but we should have enough hitters to carry him. Carp, Tork and Greene all need to figure things out, either here or in Toledo. And? Nice chart!
  7. But it seems like they should be able to purchase a players contract. This guy made 2 more long field goals in his 2nd game. He's going to be kicking for somebody this fall...
  8. Tork struggled last spring...started the season in a slump. Now he struggled this spring and got off to a slow start...spring results sometimes matter.
  9. Nobody said that!! 😁
  10. Some people say that playing in college is a bit like minor league training. Aluminum bats screw up many scouts judgement, IMO.

  12. Whis stats are those? Usually the Free Press is pretty accurate. And I thought I remember hearing he was struggling at the time.
  13. IDK all the reasons. Maybe it's in the players contracts?
  14. It's too bad spring training stats are so meaningless. Many saw him struggling in Florida and just shrugged it off. And here we are....
  15. An article in today's Free Press says it's illegal for teams to contact UFL players. Teams are allowed to contact teams about their players but aren't supposed to directly contact any player.
  16. "Hey, Rockie, watch me pull a win outta my ass"
  17. Agreed. But Vierling made those plays in the bottom of the 8th, allowing the Tigers to come back. Really huge defensive plays, as was Greene's.
  18. How big were those Vierling catches now? Yuge!!
  19. Pittsburgh...uhhh...you blew a winnable game. But...thank you!!
  20. A very weak offense also puts a lot of pressure to be as perfect as possible on the entire pitching staff.
  21. Is pitchability a word?
  22. Very true. Too many players not able to make contact. And too many umpires with different strike zones. Playing with a dead ball may bring back more "small ball" with teams putting more emphasis on making contact and putting the ball in play. It would probably take a generation of players to adjust to it though.
  23. Oops...already posted. But good theories. Instead of a dead ball, how about a bigger strike zone?
  24. JV discussing pitcher injuries;
