  1. Nobody. Why spend any money when suckers....err...fans will pay to see an inferior product? Just throw some more "alternate" jerseys and hats at the suckers...err...fans and pocket the money.
  2. OK. But that doesn't change the fact that he's a 36 year old on the downside of his career. People who are into stats know there's a curve where there's an age drop-off. It's pretty foreseeable. And like I've said, he would be an excellent pickup to fill in a roster on a contender...as someone you can build around? Yeah, not so much.
  3. So many All Stars...wow. impressive. I'm surprised we ever lose a game. 😅😅 But seriously, Flaherty has surprised me. I wish we had coaches that improved hitters as much as our coaches help pitchers...
  4. They didn't do enough. Last two seasons, Tiger fans were all excited by the fact that Miggys huge contract was coming off the books and we could go out and get some quality players. This season, we hear that we need to evaluate what we have in the young players before we can spend. Next year it will be more of the same with a young 3rd baseman possibly coming up and some fresh arms possibly coming up. So our payroll is half of what it was when we contended, did they lower ticket prices? Lip service and excuses only work for so long when other teams rebuild and pass you by. What will Tiger management say next season when the White Sox pass us? It's all Al Avila's fault?
  5. It was pure Tiger management lip service. Just like the Tiger employees in the booth have an excuse for every Tiger player who stinks in a game. A hangnail, blister, bad hop, bad umpires...it gets real old real fast. These clowns are TIGER EMPLOYEES.
  6. I see tons of potential from him. He'll be close to hitting .300 by season end, IMO. He really is the least of our problems. But let's look at 1st base, SS, 3rd base, CF and RF. We have players we put out there but players to build around? Nope.
  7. The best thing I heard about him last off-season was he was really good at getting hit by pitches. 🤣🤣
  8. They may be big league hitters but only on a bottom feeding team. They fit right in on the Tigers where not much is expected of them.
  9. Check out the response from Willy...lol...he would fit right in at MTS...
  10. He's a 36 year old on the downward part of an average career. Did we expect a .320 hitter with 40 home runs? Or a guy collecting a huge paycheck before sliding into retirement?
  11. They're going to fade. I see them losing between 80 and 90 games.
  12. Will Vest shoulda just gone out to the mound and told Hinch to sit down and shut up. Overmanaging game after game with totally foreseeable results. Oh well, it's good to lower fans expectations. We wouldn't want to disappoint them.
  13. Good job AJ. It's good to know you're SO dependable.
  14. Vest looked good. Hinch better find a different reliever to put in and give up half a dozen runs.
  15. Bobby Witt Jr. is going to be a pain in the ass for years.
  16. And they don't play much better at home. Lions first preseason game is in early August...
  17. Tiger announcers are going thru an entire list of excuses for the Tigers. Mound, blister, hang nail, single ply toilet paper....
  18. 60+ pitches in 3 innings. Skubal doesn't have his best stuff today.
  19. Bad hop....just listen too all the excuses these Tiger employees make when the Tigers can't make a routine play. Excuse after excuse. It gets tiresome.
  20. Good approach. Make the pitcher throw a lot of pitches. Maybe we can get to their BP in the 7th or 8th inning.
  21. 2-0 feels much worse with this Tigers offense. Is Dan Petry finding excuses for Skubal's lack of command?
  22. Most picks never reach the majors. There's a huge list of 1st round picks who never made it, even ones who went #1 overall. And then there are lower picks who turn into All Stars. It's baseball.
  23. If people would take a look at baseball 1st round picks thru the years, they might start to understand how difficult predicting what a player will do by the time he's ready for MLB. Baseball drafts are a crapshoot, even early picks. Most drafted players never even make the majors. If they fired every GM who drafted a player who didn't make it, GM turnover would be huge.
  24. He was considered a 3rd baseman when we took him.
  25. Gotta admit, Flaherty has been a surprise. Canha is what he is, a 36 year old with a decent OBP. He would be an excellent fit on a team that's ready to win. But saying we wanted him so the young guys can study and learn from his approach? And them come out of the gate scoring one freaking run a week? Yeah, pure Tiger lip service. He plays for an affordable price, bottom line. But they will NEVER say that.
