Can say what he wants about the left or right. The biggest reason our country has screwed up the Covid response is because politics got involved. I firmly believe if Biden was in charge when covid hit, he would have handled things much better and prolly have saved thousands of lives. Or anyone not named Trump.

I remember I twisted my ankle really bad several years ago. They gave me vicodin (sp?) and I took one. I got so sick, I called the doctor office. My stomach was VERY upset, I was shivering AND sweating. Horrible. I also have a friend who had foot surgery. The doc didn't want to give him pain meds because he was afraid my friend would mess his foot up if he didn't feel the pain. Makes sense, the doctor didn't want him to reinjure himself by dulling the pain.

I don't know. I sure wouldn't argue with doctors or scientists who have been studying infectious diseases for their entire careers. More people need to realize that these folks aren't/weren't lying to us when they gave us instructions. This is all new to them and they can only work with the data they have at this point. I remember early in the pandemic that people were saying the virus could live on object for up to 28 days. Not true.

I read that some people have different symptoms with this new strain, if that's what she has. More nasal congestion than previous strain. And more children getting sick.. Makes me wonder if new covid strains will get more and more mild? Or if the newly infected will be immune to new virus strains? I sure hope so.

I think I'll take a break from Twitter for a month or so. It may get ugly. I'll just come here to vent...๐ ๐

People with substance abuse problems also knew right away it was something they could abuse. I'm getting ready to binge "Dopesick" and I think they'll say people at the drug companies knew. But they also knew the $$ they could make.

And the new variant is going after kids. It looks like most of the conclusions they came to in the past change as we either learn more or a new variant pops up. Can't blame the experts for being wrong, they're working with the data they have now. That may change in 2 or 3 weeks.

Yeah, the CDC and the FDA. Whenever someone brings up the FDA, I always ask..." you mean the same FDA that approved and allowed all of those opiates on the market?" Prolly responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths.

It's pretty old though. Good basic read but not very up to date.

This is a pretty old interview. Not defending the idiot, just saying we've learned much more about it since then. And we still continue to. When Biden first took office, the 2 shot vaccines were considered essential to protecting us from catching covid. It was something like 90% protective (or more). Along came Delta and that % went way down. A booster was needed to get out protection % back up. What we ended up doing was creating a bunch of asymptomatic people. People who could spread it but weren't sick themselves. The anti-vax idiots saw that as proof the vaccines didn't work. They actually hoped vaxxed people got sick and died to prove they were right. I have a (ex)friend I had a rational talk with. He came right out and said he really believes anyone who gets vaxxed is going to die from the vaccine. He really believes this. That rabbit hole is really deep and it isn't possible to change their minds. There is a very real possibility that by the middle/end of January, we'll be in a total crisis with overflowing hospitals and record numbers of serious cases and deaths from all the holiday gatherings. I really hope I'm wrong but all the signs point to that happening. I have a neighbor who is also an anti-vaxxer. These people will not wear masks or social distance. They call it "personal choice" but to me they're just inconsiderate and ignorant. Bottom line? IMO, we're doomed.

This is very true. As it was, it was affecting old people and minorities in blue states, at first. And all of MAGA was fine with that. I wonder how they'll change history to make themselves look good? Maybe the midterms won't be kind to them after all?
-
Yes, he does look better. Maybe his injury had a lot to do with it? I'm glad he looks decent because, unless something changes, he'll be under center for us again next season. Drafting a QB that isn't highly rated could be a waste of a pick for a team with so many needs. Finding a good QB in this league is very difficult.

I agree, good loss. These are games we'll be winning in the near future. And yeah, I love watching teams play in snow, rain and mud.

Ohhh...ok. That makes sense. When I hear illegal formation, I usually think the offensive team.
-
I don't get it. Atlanta punt goes 61 yards, pinning the Lions on their own 10 yard line. But illegal formation on Atlanta. And the Lions refuse the penalty? Bad coaching decision or some other reason I can't figure out?
-
The Lions are hot. They've won 2 of their last 3 games. Or put another way, they've won 2 of their last 14 games? ๐คฃ๐คฃ

No, trolls whole purpose is to distort and distract from the original subject. The better trolls get along with everyone for a while to establish a good reputation. And get other people to be their supporters so they're not "outed" as a troll. Most of them are very unhappy with their lives so they try to make life as miserable as they can for others. It reminds me of a certain political group that worships a disgusting and corrupt crime syndicate family. Pretty sad America has come to this point. Oh, and an apology to Sue and to others for falling for the trolls bait and disrupting this entire post. I guess I'll never learn...๐

We've come a long way with vaccines. Consider an early "vaccine" for smallpox. I wonder if there would be even more anti-vaxxers if we still did it this way? ๐๐๐ "In China, powdered smallpox scabs were blown up the noses of the healthy. The patients would then develop a mild case of the disease and from then on were immune to it. The technique did have a 0.5โ2.0% mortality rate, but that was considerably less than the 20โ30% mortality rate of the disease itself." https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smallpox_vaccine

Yeah, I made the mistake of getting my booster at the same time as the flu shot. It was a rough day and a half.
-
It's much quieter with him on ignore. It allows the adults to discuss true facts about covid. Mask up, people. And get vaxxed up. ๐
-
Yes, Biden said it because it was true at the time. Trump said it because he's just an idiot. Any questions, Stanley?

โOh no, the vaccines work,โ Trump told Candice Owens. โBut some people are the ones โ the ones who get very sick and go to the hospital are the ones that donโt take the vaccine. But itโs still their choice. And if you take the vaccine, youโre protected.โ

Michigan has already been devastated by a late fourth surge, with hospitals across the state being overrun for weeks by mostly unvaccinated people. Weโve hurtled past 1.4 million cases and 25,000 deaths โ and reports that the worst is behind us seem wildly optimistic between omicron and the impending holidays. Almost all of these recent deaths were preventable by getting a few shots. But there are millions who have feverishly bought into COVID conspiracies spread by mostly vaxxed right-wing media figures and Republican politicians playing them for rubes. Theyโre gambling with their lives so rich people can score political points off them, but they think CRT-loving liberals are the real enemy. https://m.metrotimes.com/news-hits/archives/2021/12/20/susan-j-demas-hospitals-are-overrun-by-the-unvaccinated-what-happens-to-the-rest-of-us
