  1. Yeah, he should probably focus on relief at this point. But I also think some team would be happy to give him a shot at starting. He must be approaching minor league free agency soon
  2. If Max and JV got 2-3 years at 43 mil per approaching age 40, I would think Skubal would be looking at 5/225-250. I think that's the minimum he might consider, should he continue his elite level through to free agency. But again, I also believe someone will offer him 9/400
  3. I remember talking with my father before Miggy's core injury and predicting he'd hit 600 HR, 3500 hits and 2000 RBI. It really was sad how early he fell off s cliff
  4. This might be the first off season in 15+ years that Detroit could be a positive destination for veteran free agents looking for a chance to win. Does Det bring back Beasley, Hardaway or Schroeder? Or go after some other vets? Should be a fun off season
  5. That's a lot of curly fries
  6. I have my doubts that Harris will ever give a huge, long-term deal. Such a small percentage turn into a positive for a team, for pitchers or position players. A small handful of teams will go there. I would hate to see Skubal go, but am already mentally prepared for it to happen.
  7. Disappointed, but last year at this time I never thought Det would have such a season. They'll learn from this. Tip my cap to Brunson and the Knicks. Hope they find a way to take down Boston
  8. It's been many years since I've been nervous with a Pistons game
  9. Only one year left for arbitration, then FA. Dodgers, Yankees or Phillies will offer him something like 8/350. He's not signing for less than 300+. If Garrit Cole signed a 9/324 contract 5 years ago at age 29, Skubal will top that.
  10. Now that I have my sleep back in order, the left coast games are gonna cost me. Discipline, I know the not.
  11. I was surprised that Benetti didn't make any Wolfram Jack comments
  12. 70s version by a landslide
  13. Marathon. Describes the baseball season and the greatest candy bar of all time.
  14. I agree. I'd have him in the hall already
  15. Ouch, tough game to lose!
  16. It will never be ok with gambling on one's own game. Doesn't mean it won't happen. It's just pitiful that MLB promotes different gambling lines throughout every broadcast. The NFL throws out the obligatory "and as always, gamble responsibly. " Who stole my lunch?
  17. I dislike Altuve vs Detroit, even more than I dislike loud boat whistles
  18. Mike Piazza was drafted in the 62nd round. Skubal in the 9th. I've come to trust Harris.....and Holmes.....and Langdon. Good to be a Detroit fan
  19. Just think, last year to this date Tork still hadn't hit a home run
  20. As much as I like Clark, it would be great to have Langford in Detroit's line-up. I think he is going tobe a stud for a decade https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/l/langfwy01.shtml
  21. I have a lot of cobwebs.
  22. The hypocrisy is thick with MLB. Mays and Mantle were both suspended from MLB just because they did some work with casinos. Iirc Mantle was a spokesperson for the March of Dimes and worked with casinos to raise money. Fast forward a few decades and Fan Duel is now a major media platform for MLB. I fully agree, all about money
  23. I ended up watching the Pistons instead of the Tigers. Hoping for a win today. Hopefully Vierling and Meadows will be back at some point in May
  24. I have some 1960s post Tigers. They're actually rather inexpensive to collect
