  1. SBF won’t skate. He’s going away for the rest of his natural life, and who knows, maybe for a few years beyond that. He’ll probably end up in the same cell block as Bernie Madoff.
  2. Saying “we are going to look into it” would obligate the White House in a way they don’t want and keep the issue alive for much longer, because they will continue to be questioned on it until they eventually still have to say “there’s too much weight being put into that.” Then they get criticized not only for “concluding” this, but for dragging it out. By saying this when she did, she takes the hit now and it heals faster once the media starts chasing the latest laser pointer light.
  3. It's a guess.
  4. And whenever Riley Greene gets hurt, we can stick him out in center field for a little slightly above-average defense. Utility!
  5. If not for Ohtani, Lorenzen would be the best hitting pitcher in baseball by a long shot, over even Greinke.
  6. Seems pretty clear that Harris/Hinch/Fetter see Michael Lorenzen as a worthy reclamation project. They want to change him from this: Back to reclaiming this:
  7. He strikes out fewer batters than average and walks more batters than average, going back two years at least, so controlling the plate in not in his recent skill set. Maybe we’re signing him to DH. 😏
  8. Depends. What you say “better offer”, what number would Detroit have had to offer to lead Correa to take ours versus San Francisco’s 13/350?
  9. If Javy has a great first half, which is still within the realm of possibility, there's a chance we might be able to flip him to a bubble contender for a lower-ranked numbered prospect. Maybe someone in some team's 5-10 range, plus a flyer on a 20-something pitcher. Not unlike Joey J.
  10. Correa would never have signed with Detroit for 10/325. He wanted to play for a contender, and despite our playing .475 ball a couple years ago, we weren't one. I think it probably would have taken something close to 400 million for him to throw all that aside and come to Detroit.
  11. Here's a picture that's going to show up all over right wing media as further evidence of American's decline.
  12. The power of star power.
  13. The main competition with Javy for shortstop jobs next winter are Tim Anderson and IKF. As long as Javy doesn’t have the worst year among the three of them, he’s probably gone.
  14. I think it could be argued that 13/350 is way off 10/375, but it’s way, way off 3/87. Maybe even way, way, way off. Contracts are more than just their AAV.
  15. The contract also maintains 4 as a top-end threshold that only one guy has blasted through so far for at least. If Correa would have gone through the barrier it would have emboldened other players/agents to insist on that and made it somewhat harder for teams to resist it. Ohtani has a shot at it next year, although I think Soto might be the best bet at this point to be the next guy to go through it, in 2025.
  16. I think there’s a chance that sometime in the 2030s, whoever has his contract restructures the last few years of his contract a la Bobby Bonilla and sends him on his way, maybe with the money the Giants give them to take him off their hands in the late 2020s.
  17. Not quite, but not quite way, way off.
  18. Dansby Swanson has options now.
  19. Sure is a lot better than 3/87.
  20. The party that has told us for four-plus decades that government is evil is using government to perpetrate evil, and we just shrug and accept it because what are ya gonna do? Government is evil.
  21. See ya on the table, Jake.
  22. Can they actually stay in business relying only on self-important douchebags?
  23. That’s what the whole redirection strategy is intended to draw people’s attention away from
  24. Nothing there. What was it?
