  1. You’re exaggerating. It’s only 30 or 40 goals.
  2. So even when Disney gets penalized by the state, they still come out over a billion dollars ahead. That’s Peak American Capitalism right there.
  3. What can I say? I’m delirious from the COVID. 😪😵‍🥴 Still both a dick move and a bad move.
  4. Let's set aside the fact that the intentional walk has basically gone the way of the sacrifice bunt as a largely discredited small ball tactic in the first place. Miguel Castro is not exactly chopped liver, or as you might put it, "some random lefty" (although Castro is a RHP). He's a guy with a fair amount of red on his Savant card, especially when it comes to inducing soft contact. And if a right-handed-pitching soft-contact guy can't induce soft contact from a right-handed-hitting 39-year-old hitter who'd been making soft contact all day, a guy who already was 0-for-3 against him lifetime, then what is he doing out there this late in a one-run game? Instead, Boone elected to four-finger Miggy so Castro could face basically our best left-handed-hitter. Granted, he was on an 0-for-18 skein, or something along those lines, but Boone still gave up the platoon advantage to face a good hitter, and he got burned. Plus, in the Scrooge department, Boone robbed the hometown fans of the opportunity to see a living legend hit a milestone goal in front of them. When I add all this up, the result is Boone pushing a button because his finger happened to be itchy and he wanted to come off as a brilliant tactician, except that instead he was just too cute by half. You can choose to look at it as the right move that just happened to go wrong this one time, and that's your opinion, and you are entitled to that. But it doesn't mean you are right. 😄
  5. That's some good marketing copy, right there. 😏
  6. No doubt, and that's why sure, why not?
  7. I do have to admit I made a mistake on his walk numbers, though. I was reading the wrong column and thought he was averaging 5 BB/9. Turns out that was his K/BB rate. His BB/9 rate is closer to 2, which is very good. So he looks like a relatively soft-tossing righty who more-or-less pitches to contact and needs a good defense behind him to turn his higher-than-average balls in play into outs. Once Javy gets back, and either Riley or Hill find their way to center field, he could potentially do pretty well. He might scuffle a bit before then, though.
  8. If we're going to send him back to Rookie or A-ball, I'm sure he'll strike out a ton of guys. If we expect him to pitch in the big leagues, then based on his numbers in AA especially, and so far in AAA, probably not so much. He's been averaging barely 8 K/9 at those levels, and that's been against minor leaguers.
  9. I don't know how excited I am for yet another low-strikeout, high-walk guy coming out off the farm, but sure, why not? Throw him into the meat grinder and see whether he can come out whole.
  10. It was a dick move.
  11. Win. Win win win win. Fuck everything else. Win win win win.
  12. And Austin responds with a bloop single, so, good! Fucking asshat Yankees.
  13. Holy fuck! As if I needed another reason to hate the goddamn Yankees!
  14. Tigers are kicking up their heels here in the eighth!
  15. Hey, what do you know! Two groundball outs! Awesome! Now do that three more times.
  16. Gregory Soto coming into the game with the bases loaded and one out in the eighth, with a mere one-run lead, and will be asked to get the final five outs. What’s the proper emoji for this? Oh, yeah, it’s gotta be …
  17. I will admit that I caught myself doing that same thing when I first started capturing events on iPhone video maybe a decade or so ago, and once I realized what I was doing, I felt a little dopey. After all, I’m there in person to see it live! Why are my eyes glued to my phone instead! So I have sort of solved this “problem”, if it is one, by lowering the camera from directly in front of my face down to just a little below my neck. That way I can look over the phone at the action as it’s going on live, but I can also keep the phone in my field of vision to ensure that I’m still capturing everything my eyes are watching. It takes a couple of tries to get it just right, but it’s not hard to do so.
  18. Every team has its unique downside. How would you like to be part of a fan base that’s mortified by not having won a World Series ring since 2009?
  19. Willi Castro can’t stop getting himself thrown out stealing, can he?
  20. They obviously need you to show them how it’s done. 😉
  21. Another pressing at bat, another strikeout. Sigh. It really knocks me out seeing all these people who are there live and in the stands watching his at bats through their phone!
  22. That’s OK, you don’t have to be excited or impressed. I just think it’s cool to see one of our guys up toward the top of a good pitcher’s list for a change.
  23. Man, Big Load is off to a great start!
  24. The umpire kept the ball from getting past the catcher to the backstop, which possibly cost us an extra base.
  25. They have Pineda listed at 280, so, what do we think? 310? 320?
