This is pretty tense stuff, but even if the Dodgers screw the pooch in the ninth inning, they still have two more games in their back pocket. I’d just as soon see this season end here so we can move on with our own stuff. Deals awards. Etc.
So after Cole’s blunder at first base I wonder if the national media is going to scold the Yankees for their “pitcher fielding” foibles as I recall we were scolded in 2006. Or if “the pinstripes” allure will frighten them from taking things that far…
I get it, but this stuff penalizes teams that are trying to utilize every under utilized angle possible to squeak out a win. It’s a way of making sure that the big teams with lots of money make it to the top.
So the Dodgers starter was starting his very first game as an MLB player in the World Series of all places and he lasts three innings. Is this “pitching chaos” or just a mistake?
A-Rod and Jeter are choosing the Yankees tonight for G-4. Seems probable. It’s hard to believe that the Yankees can completely collapse and not win at least one game. But we’ve seen good teams knocked over by steamrollers before….
Didn’t Judge begin the season slowly? And now here he’s ending the season slowly. It’s actually kind of tragic.
And as a spectacle, this series is lacking. The only way for it to be less dramatic is for the Dodgers to win tonight in a blowout and for them to be unable to celebrate in Dodger Stadium where it would be considerably more exciting.
That’s three games worth of hoopla and advertising revenue down the drain.
