it would have been a tough play, but Carpenter could have caught that.

That's the second one of the day. Maybe they told him don't get hurt crashing into the wall again?

Baddoo will be back soon so then Vierling will be in right field.

Does there? Kyle Gibson is also 6-6 and about 200 and he tops out at 92.

But Manning had more when he was coming up didn't he? Actually he has picked up some velo as this game as gone on, he was hitting 95 consistently this inning but he's still not getting any whiffs on anything he's throwing.

There has to be more velocity in that frame than he's getting. 95+ would go a long way toward making his life easier.

He was regularly touching the upper 90's during rehab, and with his extension that gets on you in a hurry, but coming off an injury, you can expect inconsistency as you build up arm strength and settle into a routine.

I see what you're saying. Maybe. But like you say, he's just very hittable, and has been for some time.

He just now touched 96 and that looks good. But it's 2023, not 1943, so 96 isn't special like it was for Rapid Robert. He needs to fix it, or else.

If you consider Carpenter should have caught the long fly, he gave up 3 at Coors on a summer day - not terrible, something to build on.

no rhythm, really rushing his delivery

I dont get these managers sometimes...there comes a point when every schlub sitting on their couch (like me) can see when a guy has to get the hook, but these million dollar skippers leave 'em in too long.

Kerry Carpenter was unable to get to a fly ball that a reasonably good right fielder would have gotten. He's yet another DH from the Avila era and I don't think he makes it to the next playoff team as a starter, either.

In fairness you don't expect to get any value from a 19th round pick. DH or not the guys is providing incredible value for a 19th rounder.
