That’s his 5th 3 apple game in just 25 with the Wild. He also became the 3rd fastest D in history to hit 400 trailing only Orr and Coffey. ok Quote

slothfacekilla Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Honestly I just thought it was a funny play! I usually browse r/hockey in the mornings to see if anything interesting happened the previous night. It must have been the end of a shift for the Wild because the whole line seemed to have their batteries die on their controller at the same time. It was a 1 on 4 and they let an old man dance in and around their goalie! I didn't think it was a referendum on Hughes (who is a very good player!) or the Wild, think they won in OT via Kaprizov. buddha Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago on the topic of edvinsson, i think he is going to be as good or better than seider. he's taller and more mobile. i see those two developing into the best pair in the nhl. hughes is a special offensive talent, i get it. but i think edvinsson is going to be a special DEFENSEman. They aren't quite the same kind of player - which probably makes them a better pair. I don't think Edvinsson can match Seider's wheels. Mortitz is an exceptional skater for a big man so wouldn't see Simon matching what Moritz can do as high man on the PP for instance, but I agree he's becoming a real force. Good stick and he's gotten to be a very tough match for anyone to take on at the boards. Edited 11 hours ago by gehringer_2 Quote

Never ever said that. Edvinsson is really good now and going to be great. I think Stevie made a mistake valuing him over Hughes who is a generational defenseman (and much, much better defender than you give him credit). Quote

Probably am underestimating Edvinsson’s ceiling a bit. I don’t think the contract is that big of a deal since absolute worst case he helps you for two years of a serious cup run. I also believe they would be able to sign him. Nobody has any idea what the brothers intentions are but I can tell you that if NJ miss the playoffs this year and next, there may be no Hughes brothers still on the team for Quinn to want to play with. I’m not going to keep beating a dead horse. It is what it is. I’ll move on from the Hughes vs. Simon debate. Edited 10 hours ago by Hongbit 1 Quote

Lets say the Devils look like they aren't going to be very good going forward and you are the team that signs Quinn to a 6 or 7 yr deal. Is he then going to spend all his energy lobbying you to bring in his bros from NJ as their contracts expire? Is that going to be good for your team? Are you going to do it even if if isn't to keep your star happy? It's all speculation but it's just another thing that needs to at least be in the back of your mind if you decide to deal with a guy with siblings in the league who has already said he wants to play with them. THAT'S the hughes brother who is moving. all this assumes a lot, like the fact they ACTUALLY WANT to play together. they might not. lots can happen in 2 years. maybe the wings draft the next hughes brother and quinn decides he wants to play with him? we dont know. from their public statements, it would seem quinn is bound for jersey, but you never know. i remember when johnny gaudreau definitely wanted to play on the east coast and then signed in columbus. now, i know hockey players arent geography majors, but c-bus isnt a hop, skip, or jump from the atlantic ocean. otoh, gavrikov was "always ticketed to ny" and ended up signing with the rangers. rasmus anderson "only wanted to play in vegas" and was traded to vegas. lordstanley Posted 9 hours ago Author Posted 9 hours ago If the Devils suck again next year, does Quinn even want to go there? His production is much higher since the trade than it had been with Canucks earlier this season. Why end up in another Canucks situation Quote
