Red Wings kick off a month of 7 road games and 7 home games with a game in Columbus tonight. 8 games are against opponents currently in playoff position, 6 games are against opponents currently outside a playoff spot.  The Wings went 5-7-2 in December for 12 points in 14 games.

first Columbus goal scores after a weak ass clearing attempt by Petry. Why would you just sweep the puck along the dasher when you know an offensive player is there waiting for it?  Exactly what McLellan was talking about when he said they had to play smarter.

As an ex goalie I would have been very annoyed at Seider and Chiarot on that BJs goal, it is like they were trying to screen Talbot

Very nice win in Columbus.

I'm intrigued by the new Joe Veleno usage.  I wonder if Todd sees something in him or if Yzerman told him to give it a try.  Joe has actually made some nice plays that have surprised me, he also still does some stupid stuff.  But maybe they can drag a hockey player out of him after all?

I haven't watched a Wings goal on repeat that often since Kane's last year in Chicago.

At the risk of getting the Jim Mora meme resurrected, I would like to point out that the Wings are now just 4 points behind the final playoff spot. A bunch of mediocre teams chasing 8th place.
