…. And we’re all just going to pretend that this is normal behavior?  And defend this line of thought?

This is the part I'll never understand... every time he does stupid **** like this, there's this almost impulsive need among both his supporters and the mainstream media to backfill some sort of logic to it to make it seems like business as usual.

With Greenland, like many other cases, it isn't. There isn't any strategic genius here, he's just a malignant narcissist who sees how big it looks on a map and salivates in the same way that a German Shepherd would salivate over a New York Strip. It gets exhausting hearing many (media, supporters *and* some of his foes) apply some sort of sophisticated logic to any of this when there clearly is none.

Does Trump know the difference between Norway and Sweden? That the Nobel Prize Committee is not tied to the government of any country?

That the Nobel Prize was created by a guy who invented dynamite?

By maga logic,  they don't want to get dragged into a war over China or Russia invading Greenland. If it's part of the USA, they would be deterred from attacking.

Once Trump has Greenland,  he's going to want the rest of NATO. The same logic applies. They can't defend against China or Russia either.  How is this different from Nazi Germany?

We're getting dangerously close to losing democracy everywhere.

And when I say “all”, it only refers to those that CAN have any mechanism of government push back and refuse him.

When will enough be enough?

At least it wasn't a sandwich. Trump hires and appoints the worst lawyers

Quote

Alexis Gardner, a federal public defender for Mr. Winkler, called the case “a clear example of misuse of prosecutorial discretion.”

She said federal resources were spent charging a man “whose alleged weapon was a cat toy key chain,” adding that it was “time and money diverted from real public safety threats.”

There's no other way to put it: Donald Trump is a graphics novel-level supervillian. Simple as that. He will stop at nothing, and he won't stop until someone stops him.

I know this has been said often, but this seems impeachment worthy.

I think it's worth asking—I don't mean rhetorically questioning, but seriously asking for the purpose of answers—why he is being allowed to get away with all this. What are the mechanisms at work that is keeping what is literally the entire rest of the world, particularly here at home, at bay?

I’ve asked myself this question many times lately. It goes to show the moral rot of nearly half of Congress. There’s literally NOTHING he could do to lose their support.

Because he hates the right people. That enabled the loonies like Mike Johnson to tolerate it. If the evil lesbians and liberals can’t stand the guy then it’s all good.  The other reason is people like Ted Cruz and Rubio and Graham can never admit they were wrong after they flipped once already to be pro trump. They would rather destroy the country than admit we were right about him.  We have one more chance, if we are allowed to, to save this country in about 9 1/2 months.

I think there’s a lot of cowardice as well. People like Graham know they have it easy and have no chance of losing their jobs…unless they rock the boat and show any type of spine. They know his vindictiveness will come out, and having their current power trumps everything they know is making the country less safe.

And to think I once quit a job because they spelled my name wrong on a 10 year employee recognition plaque.

(There were other reasons, that was the one I gave them when I tendered my resignation)

As is Donald Trump.

No. That’s wrong. Donald Trump is way, way, way more dangerous than the guy on the bus yelling out loud to himself. I believe we should be using language characterizing him that acknowledges that, rather than language that reduces him to a mere run-of-the-mill annoyance.
