The Hanover Board of Supervisors made a statement Wednesday night opposing the construction of a government "processing facility" that would hold as many as 1,500 people detained by Immigrations and Customs Enforcement.

"It is clear this location is not an appropriate one," Board Chair Sean M. Davis said, reading a statement unanimously approved by the Board.

The statement acknowledged that the federal government may not have to respect the wishes of the Board, but asked that the Department of Homeland Security consider the county's feedback.

"A facility of this nature will change the character of the area, place unplanned demands on county services – including public safety – as well as reduce county tax revenues by no less than $1 million annually," Davis said.

The location of the facility, which would be directly across the street from a Bass Pro Shops, is one of the things Davis cited in his objection.

The BOS says it's not political. It is not a desirable location for a prision. Maybe if the Regime approaches the localities along US 17 between Fredericksburg and the turnoff to Winchester. Horse country with big farms owned by multi millionaires. Looks like a great spot to me...

1 needs to be even more specific and demand a stop to ALL ICE/CBP takeover of cities, including Minneapolis. No ifs, ands or buts.

The Democrats should play hardball. Refuse to fund the government until they get ICE out of every American city. Arrest ONLY migrants who commit felonies. Insist every BPA wear body cameras, no masks and have visible ID. No more arrests without warrants, no more home invasions without legitimate warrants. And then move on to health care subsidies. Reinstate them so the health care system doesn't collapse. And then move on to the Epstein Files, that were supposed to be released in December. Release them now or impeach Pam Bondi. Play hardball with this facist administration. Defeat them going into the midterms..

I know this won't happen but if that Head Cheeto wants to call Democrats radicals? Go ahead and go full radical. Its better than this facist regime.

Any 'agent' that kicks open doors without a judicial warrant and/or of anybody who is NOT a person who has committed a felony should have to pay for damages.
