jedd fisch and kalen deboer would be at the top of the list.

minter was brought up for nfl jobs, not sure if he'd come back to college.  

jay harbaugh is a name....that sounds like something michigan would do.  and it might not be a bad thing, but it's an easy thing.

I don't think there is any way Urban would ever coach Michigan

He was quoted just last night at his hall of fame induction saying his greatest career accomplishment was going 7-0 against UM

I think schools have been playing games with rules about commitments and 'interim' coaches. Commitments can bail when a new coach is hired, but if I understand it right, their options are more limited if an 'interim' is announced

Jay is probably where I would put my money right now. He's 36, lots of experience at Michigan, lots of experience recruiting. And as you said, easy in a search where the train has long since left the station.

Moore gave a presser on Monday.  No way they put him out there if they were even considering firing him.  Something had to break between Monday and this afternoon.

Manuel admitted they had been "investigating" this since mid november.

Basically, they wait until after they lost to OSU and didn't make playoffs and after signing day. If they beat OSU and made playoffs this 100% get swept under the rug. 

Just add it to the pile of shadiness that has been growing in Ann Arbor since 2020.

Just to be clear - you are including the 2023 win so that one does NOT count for Jim H, right? I always hear Michigan giving that W to both Moore and Harbaugh and it is weird.

They demoted Schlissel for creepy consensual emails. If the Twitter-verse is right, Moore did much more than send creepy emails.

To answer the underlying question, I do think they probably still ultimately fire him if he beats Ohio State and is in the playoff right now. I also think they (along with quite literally every other major college football program and every team that is in the playoffs) would have "continued investigating" until the offseason. I'm not saying that's morally right, but it's the state of college football.
