Peyton Graham had another big time game going 3-4 HR 2RBI BB and his 51st SB.

Feels like he's coming into his own and really understands what kind of guy he is.

he's slashing .478/.527/.674 so far in July.

BA updated their rankings, and Flukey, Dempsey and Adams are all in the top 12.

I have to say I don't agree at all Liranzo at 20 behind even Trei Cruz.  I'd probably have him in the 7-9 range, for sure ahead of Oliveto and probably ahead of Anderson.  As discussed before, I think people forget how young he is and the fact that he is still producing a solid OPS while showing he could be at least a #2 catcher defensively.  His biggest thing is staying healthy right now.

I certainly don't disagree; I do feel like there is prospect fatigue with him as he has been around a while. He is still almost 2 years younger than the average player in the EL and just turned 23, 2 weeks ago. To put it into context less than 20% of his plate appearances have been against pitchers younger than him. Health is absolutely something though.

Liranzo seems to have a similar trajectory as Dingler. He struggles after advancing then seems to figure it out. Only this appears to be stalling at AA

He's sitting at a .772 OPS through 201 PA's at Erie this year, up from .659.  About 7-10 days before he was put on hte IL he was over .800.  Yes his BA is low, but 9 hrs and 34 walks in 201 PA's is pretty good.  Last year he was injured and dealing with family issues.  It's just crazy to me that BA would drop him from #69 overall pre 2025 to 20th in our system behind the likes of Trei Cruz when he just turned 23 and is putting up better than league average OPS at 1.8 yrs younger than league average.

It's kind of like Lee never ranking high on prospect rankings even though he was (and still is) young for his league and was putting up better than league average numbers.  Not that he will be a star, but he is showing that at the ML level now his 2nd go round.  Yet a 27 year old like River Ryan can make the top 100 on some sites.

Don't look now but that Matt Manning trade to the Phillies may have provided an interesting prospect.

In the FCL Josueth Quinonez has played in 30 games but only 81 AB's but at 19 years old, his statline is .409/.500/.455 along with 12BB to 10K.

Fangraphs Scouting Report

45. Josueth Quinonez, CF

Signed: International Signing Period, 2024 from Venezuela (PHI)
Age 19.0 Height 6′ 1″ Weight 172 Bat / Thr R / R FV 35+
Tool Grades (Present/Future)
Hit Raw Power Game Power Run Fielding Throw
25/60 20/30 20/30 45/55 30/45 55

The Tigers acquired Quinonez from the Phillies at the 2025 trade deadline in exchange for Matt Manning, who had recently been DFA’d. Quinonez has had the best pure feel to hit among Philly’s DSL contingent the last two years, and for the second consecutive season, he had a single digit strikeout rate (8.1%). As you might expect, he tracks pitches to the contact point incredibly well, and moves the barrel around the zone. He doesn’t have great bat speed right now, but he’s long and lean, and might grow into some. Long strides help Quinonez glide into the gaps. He doesn’t have huge pure speed, but again, it’s possible he’ll get faster as he matures. For now, Quinonez is a young, contact-driven rookie ball prospect who should play stateside in 2026.

Cool.

The FCL lineups from my spreadsheet. I won't get into the color codes, but they may be somewhat self-explanatory. Quinonez hitting near the bottom of the order, playing only about half the time. It is clear the priority guys in the outfield to the org are Perez and Rodriguez. If Quinonez is opening some eyes, we may see him start to move up and play every day (It happened with Peyton Graham recently). Until then, don't be fooled by the small sample stat line.

Interesting data from Fangraphs with the top 100 I can't get the table to look pretty but Rainer's Hard Hit % is top among all prospects listed and Liranzo is 3rd unfortunately both of their contact percentage is also among the lowest.

Name Pos Org Age Chase% Contact% Max Exit ▴ EV90 Launch HardHit%
Bryce Rainer SS DET 21 19.7% 66.6% 116.2 111.4 4 63.0%
Max Clark OF DET 21 20.9% 85.6% 111.3 104.5 14 38.0%
Thayron Liranzo C DET 23 20.0% 64.4% 111.2 106.2 17 56.0%

Does that suggest the pitchers will log innings in actual games in the FCL?

FCL's season ended yesterday so I'm guessing they will simply be used in the bridge league (which is basically exhibition games) with the ability to push them up to Lakeland.

I know it's not the headline, but man, has Thayron's stock dropped. Starting to look like maybe no one is gonna win that trade.

What is super interesting and showing how subjective these are fangraphs just dropped their top 100 and Thayron was 104, I generally trust FG and BA over Pipeline but it just shows how things are looked at differently across the industry. BA actually had him at 20th in the system so like he is clearly a divisive prospect.

And as we've talked in many of these threads, he is actually performing fairly well, especially for his age in AA.  What you had said about prospect fatigue I'm sure has a lot to do with it.

It's probably very tough to rank guys before they all get their ratings on a scale and when you look at those there might be dozens of guys who get a 35, 40, 45, etc. The difference between a 60 and 55 prospect might be a lot so the number one in baseball could be quite far ahead of number 10. Number 80 to 120 might all be pretty close in potential and really interchangeable.

I think it's closer to him hitting .210-ish both last year and this year in AA.

He's still showing some power in Erie, that's one positive... but the hit tool is not playing... making him look like a backup catcher only (rather than a 1B Catcher...). I'm going to guess that that's the reason why some are ranking him lower.

As you and others have noted, he's still so young for that level. If his hit tool/ BA perks up, he'll start to look more like a 1B/ platoon/ or better, catcher, again... the higher rankings will be justified and his ranking will start to drift back upward again... I believe his catching acumen (framing/ throwing/ etc.) have already risen to a pretty high level... so it's just the bat.

IMO, he does have to do better than .210-ish in AA. My guess is the Org leaves him there until he shows enough hit at that level before they move him up to AAA.

But I'm just guessing...
