I like Dimitri Martin’s comedy routine, where he says he drives up to the dispensary and sees people lined up going in and thinks to himself “you know people we don’t look good as a team.“ from experience I know this is true.

Am I right assuming that because Ibanez is the number four hitter that the number four hitter ain’t what it used to be? Or is this a strategic Hinch thing?

Yes- analytics have shifted more towards putting your best hitters in the top 3 spots so they’re likely to get more ABs overall

But also

No- it’s just because Ibanez typically hits LHPs well.
