chasfh Posted May 18 Posted May 18 He’s not having clean innings, but Jobe is gutting his way through this start pretty nicely. Quote

IdahoBert Posted May 18 Posted May 18 Six innings is enough for the kid, let’s score some runs and get him a W. I know a W doesn’t mean much for us for any particular pitcher, but apparently it’s a big deal to pitchers themselves or so I’ve heard. I don’t know if this means pitchers are a bit on the dense side or not… Quote
IdahoBert Posted May 18 Posted May 18 So, did the Blue Jays pitcher Fluharty get renamed when his ancestors landed at Ellis Island because they were too damn many Flaherty‘s coming to America? 2 Quote

Possibly he was renamed when they crossed the Irish Sea and hung in Liverpool for a while. The more English sounding name. Quote

My wife’s family moved here from Sweden, and their name was Anderson and apparently at Ellis Island it was thought there were too damn many Anderson‘s coming to America so they renamed the entire family Just. So it’s been a long line of people since 1870 with that name. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted May 18 Posted May 18 (edited) that was not a good out at 3rd. 3 outs on the bases in one series is too many. Edited May 18 by gehringer_2 Quote

Sports_Freak Posted May 18 Posted May 18 Now...can our BP hold a lead? It's been a struggle for those guys. Hint....throw strikes! Quote
IdahoBert Posted May 18 Posted May 18 Can we shut down the Blue Jays for the next three innings or do we need to score 3 more runs? Hmmmm…… Quote
Sports_Freak Posted May 18 Posted May 18 Don't throw strikes....they may hit them. <Tigers bullpen strategy> Grrrrr Quote

Yeah, he's pretty bad. It's his first MLB career game behind the plate AND he's from the Toronto area. Or so Jason said. Quote
